In my spare time when I am not pirating with Sniggwaffe in our territory, I hop into my Sigil in Tash-Murkon Prime and relocate poor farmers and miners shiney stones into my cargo hold for my own nefarious gain!
Who else takes up this fun and profitable side job? --------------------------------------------------

Yes I am a Astrogeological Sample Relocator. Seeing the marvels of the universe torn down to in the name of pure profit is an affront to all in EvE. Ore from farmers/macroers and infact anyone who jet cans who comes into my sights has their ill gotten gains quickly removed and places in a secure location for rehousing in the Perfection Astrogelogical Rehousing Program. The ore that is saved from the clutches of these fiends is given a chance for a new life...

I've just started relocation as a career choice. Lots of fun. I really like it when miners try and lock on you with their mining lasers hoping you'll fire at them. Nobody has shouted at me yet though, which i'm rather disapointed about. I thought my efforts have been worth a least a little abuse.

If it's macros, I'm there in an instant.
If it's farmers (hey, look, 12 people all in SWA mining for each other? Right-y-oh then!), same as above.
Otherwise, I've usually got other, more profitable and entertaining things to do.
But I just <3 macros (for their money. They're personality is horrible.) ---------- My sig is boring. |

can you tractor other people's cans? It would be really funny to tractor the miner's cans all over the place.

Not unless somethings changed recently. Ive even had trouble with my hauler alt not being able to tractor my own cans in complexes and whatnot if he had left gang for some reason.

I do the same thing. :) When im not pirating or when my sec gets low and i dont want it to go anylower, i get into my ra x and roam around the rens area. I go up to the miner in a shuttle and swap cans, then they: A) Take the ore back B) Shoot me C) Just leave the can there
A and B, I hop into my rax and go after them. C, I get a corp mate in a hauler to come and scoop up teh goods. I've made quite a bit of isk and got alot of 'fanmail' from doing this :). I killed a hulk (\0/), numerous barges, cruisers, and BCs doing this. I Collected aprox 150m worth of loot, including Strip miners II, arby launchers (from when the miners get angy :( ), commander items such as implants (being in the right place at the right time :) ), few million isk in minerals, and other rare named stuff. Its alot of fun and the smack you get from the miners afterward is priceless :P.

I take pride in being a garbage man. People just litter ore all over space and I take it to a station to recycle it into iskies. Sometime, my acts of selflessness for the envirionment are responded to with aggression!!! In those cases I am forced to defend myself with sometimes(mostly) lethal force. ______________________________________________

Damn, I have yet to see a hulk jetcan mining, always seems they dock dump and go back to mining.
Catching them on the scanner makes me salivate but alas no cans to be seen
Just have to wait for my day is all

I enjoy macrominers though. So much fun. You can fly up to one, say hi, steal their ore into your own can. And afterwards, you can take your cheap Thorax fitted with nothing but cheap neuts and magstabs plus a scram, and roast that covetor before CONCORD arrives. Then smile once they blow you up, because you know you did a better job than they did. ;) (I did 3 macro covetors in empire today before work. ) |

i havent been wardeced yet either had plenty of people threaten to do it tho. blood&silver doesnt seem like a proper ore theift corp yet without its first war dec.
my best moment to date was when i got a corp to pay me off so i wouldnt keep stealing their ore and unsecured secure containers
where does everyone indulge in the cleaning of cans from belts?

I have an Iterion 3 I steal macro miners and farmers ore have seen a couple of legit miners but the rest are all farmers
I have so much ore there I think I might start a manufacturing plant.I have killed 4 mining barges this week and stolen 25 indy loads of ore but the macro miners and farmers have only increased in that system

I have a couple sweatshoppers in my current location who are there once in a while...and everytime i see them they lose ore fast... always trying to convo me and when i occasionaly accept they always ask why i take their ore...well better yet they would wonder why not?
Still cant convince them to start shooting me though considder it mining taxes for raping my beautifull temporary home...saves me the long tedious work aswell but thats just a bonus
Might considder that job offer on the ice miners...sounds profitable if they are actually shoppers... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------to be or not to be is not important in the world of EVE... To be the most you can become is... |

I haven't tried this yet, but on my travels I have pssed through some systems where there are about half a dozen barges in the same belt, with cans named '00000000,' and all the pilots / characters are in an npc corp and were 'born' on the same day. Would these be macro'ers / farmers?
I guess I will find out. After reading these posts I am keen to try my hand at 'ore relocation' in the hope of making a little isk and having a lot of fun !

Cans named 123 are also a good sign that some swaet shop macro man is about too, robbed 3 last night all in the same system and all the full cans were named 123, maybe the macro hauler is set to get cans called 123 maybe ? anyway, Autama ice field has them in it 24/7 if anyones in that area a tad bored.

I like to mess with highsec miners with my alt (this character) in my spare time. There are some macrominers in the system I frequent and they park a covetor in each belt. I would hop from belt to belt and steal their ore and they would never agress. Eventually, there was only one miner left and I sat on top of him and stole ore as he dumped it in a can. This must have made them pretty mad because they sent in another newbie corp guy in a caracal to move all the ore into his own can. They probably thought I wouldn't engage the Caracal in my Battle Badger Mark II.
I locked the Caracal and then stole some ore. He agressed a few seconds later and I jammed him and started shooting. The fight probably went on for 3 or 4 minutes before the covetor pilot realized he could sic his drones on me. I did the only logical thing and turned on the smart bomb. 4 minutes later the covetor warps out because he doesn't have any more drones and the Caracal goes pop.
The sad thing is, I have killed a Mackinaw and several other barges and the best loot I have recieved so far dropped off that Caracal.
I love my Battle Badger.

"Relocated" about 400,000 m3 of ore from an obvious farmer group. All seemed to be controlled by one guy who was running the hauler between the miners, each at a different belt. After an hour of stealing his ore, he convo'd me. Got 15mil ISK out of him in exchange, i "left" the belts, docked, petitioned all his characters, and logged off a little richer ======================== Entropy Tech.
