-Poasting from anon-alt due to the fact my corp would probably be angry to hear i'm considering moving into w-space...-
Anyhow, I have been and probably will always be a single-account kind of guy. I've got less than no desire for capitals, hate the hassle of muti-clienting (something i've dabbled with in other games), and generally enjoy the immersion of just having one character to play.
I've spent most of my time in low/null the last few years and never did a lot of w-space exploring aside from a few ill-fated jaunts with friends. My chief concern is that the most w-space residents i'm aware of have many accounts and many recruiters I've talked with have expressed the desire for me to consider a second account.
As with most EVE players I assume the majority of you have a few, at least more than one, active accounts. Those of you who don't (and preferably those of you with wh experience): I'd like to hear what you have to say. I don't plan to take off solo into the wild beyond, but I do think it's likely i'll be working with a smaller corp.
Cheers. |

Doing WH solo beyond running C1-C2 in a BC and rushing back to k-space afterwards is going to be very difficult. If you have a VERY active corp that's always online when you are you can get away with it but otherwise you'll want a scout/probe/hauler/POSgun alt pretty much 80% of the time. Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.
If MMORPG players were around when God said, "Let there be light" they'd have called the light gay and plunged the universe back into darkness by squatting their nutsacks over it. |

That's what I was afraid of. |

If you're with a small wh corp you'll be fine, just try and organise your online time - you can't really do anything lucrative solo. +welcome to my world+ http://venomzer0.deviantart.com |

Yup, scouting is absolutely essential in W-Space, and there is no way around it. Honestly, I would never move into a WH alone, and I wouldn't even have my own tower unless I was doing serious production. There is a different flow to WH life. Its quite casual if you have the people, and sure there is plenty of carebears, but never try to look at it in ISK/Hour or else you'll be disappointed.
I've been in WHs for nearly a year and a half now, and I still only have 1 character. Its all about your playstyle and what you are willing to manage. Personally I don't find it fun to have to constantly worry about 2 characters and multibox.
I will say though people who do multibox make a big difference in W-Space because theres no local to scout for you. Even if its just another client watching a wormhole its a big help. But once again it all depends on your activity. Some people are extremely paranoid and NEED that scout, others just don't care. |

If your intent is to PvE and as you say not ninja sites, then you will need a POS. For a single player, it will eat up a lot of time just maintaining your base. A corp would be a much better choice.
If you want to solo PvP in w-space, then you can be perfectly functional solo with nothing but a stealth bomber and a small secure can. Though with the advent of corp bookmarks, the need for a secure can is much reduced. Still good for ammo runs. And for the love of Eve, don't forget your core probe launcher.
However, there will be times when you will be looking at some juicy loot pinata and be totally unable to bother because you won't have the dps to kill it. Or on the opposite end, you can go days and not see a single player. And then there are the rare times when you find an offline tower with SMA, CHA, and other nice stuff and make a killing. "How do you kill that which has no life?" |

Solo account in WH is perfectly feasable.
I have been living in a WH for over a year and it was not until recently that I actually bothered to bring my functioning alt into it. You may not have the flexibility to do as many things 'alone' as other players, but WH life is normally about squads and fleets of ships blowing up sleepers or ganking people attempting to do so.
Feel free to drop me a line or convo and I would be happy to talk more indepth about my expierences. In addtion, my corp is always looking for willing WH recruits. In fact, I joined them simply to get WH experience and have not looked back since. |
