I just got myself a Nighthawk and have been playing around with a few setups for lvl3/4 missions
Having previously flown a Ferox I tried a 3 extender passive tank, but the reduced Powergrid of the NH cant fit it without sacrificing low slots to RCU's.
So I have been looking into an active tank, something i havent had much experiance with
6 limos heavies (till i can use T2) and a tractor beam
Med T2 shield booster
Shield boost amp
EM and Invun hardener
T2 'burner
2*PDU
2*BCU
Damage Control
I can fit a Large Shield booster instead of the Med as this setup leaves nearly 200Pg unused, the CPU also has plenty of give in it. So I am obviously not pushing it to the limit.
Any advice on the setup or on the abilities of this ship would be appreciated.
I am aware the NH does less damage than a Cerb and cannot stand equal with a Raven in a lvl4, but I like to be different

I'd go for:
- 10MN AB T2
- 2 large shield ext 2
- 1 invul T2
- 1 Gistii A-type small shield booster
- 3 BCS T2
- 2 PDU T2
The Gistii A-type small shield booster is around 135M if u can aford it, it's the most efficient SB for what u're doing. U'll have like 70 shield regen every second, enough cap to keep all running forever, very good resists and more that decent DPS.
Change the invul for an EM Hardener T2 when needed.

For lvl 4 missions i use.
6 Heavy T2 launchers
1 med nos
1 Gisti x-type large sb
4 active harderners rat specific
2 PDU T2
3 BCU T2
This ship makes lvl 4 mission to easy.

Too much cap consuming in my opinion, about 40units/s if u keep all of it running. Mine is a one click/2 click fit :P except for high slots :). |

Nah it's fine, got aggro from the whole of the 2nd lvl of Guristas Extravaganza and tanked it. That said a generic "one tank suits all" works well, but I cant help but fiddle with different set ups.

I prefer the setup of:
6x dread guristas heavy missile launcher
3x estamel's modified invulnerability field
2x large shield extender II
2x chelm's modified PDU
2x estamel's modified BCU
But sarcasm aside, there's nothing wrong with having to use an RCU on your nighthawk. It's not like that RCU will make your passive tanking any less uber.
