Picking between the Maelstrom and the Hurricane, the Hurricane looks like its going to be much more fun to fly. And it looks awesome. So yeah, minnie bc ftw. :)
Besides, I have to train bc to V anyway for the Sleipnir... =)

You mean between picking the battleship that's basically a slower Tempest and the ship that's still got the possibility of being good, you'd pick the latter :P

Won't there then be Amarrian complaining that it runs out of cap too easy/sucks against EANMs/isn't versatile enough, though?

The Abaddon won't be 8/5/8 guaranteed. If its gonna have 5 mids, its gonna have like 7 lows, maybe 6.

Meh I don't care as long as it has 3 mids they can whine whatever they wanna :p You shouldn't disagree on that the Apoc sux, Geddon is ok, and our new bs is nothing new, and it sux too.
While it prolly ain't getting those bonuses, you wouldn't see me whine if it did (; (Ok, I reserve the right to keep whining on our other ships, cause 90% of em sux (:)

Originally by: Lisento Slaven I'm looking forward to the Minmatar and Gallente BC more than the others. Especially if the Minmatar BC is an autocannon boat =D
from a blog (dunno wich one):
minmatar BC will be an armor tanked AC boat (think 7 turrets). gallente will be the minbari thing with drone bay and 6 turrets. caldari one will be a carcal v1.5, or even 2.0. amarr will be a turret-o-rama ship

still say that if Tux wants to make the shield tanked gunship that he wants with the Maelstorm, a +5%shield HP + 5% dmg would be better than shield boosting + RoF -------

I'm personally looking forward to the Hyperion.
Regarding slot layouts, tier 3 battleships will either have 19 or 20 slots, of those 8 are guaranteed to be in high. The ships will have their traditional racial layout preferences, meaning that Amarr will have many more low than mid and Caldari will have more mid than low. In case of 19 slots (which is the sane way to go unless you wish to obsolete faction ships) it's most likely going to be a mid/low spead like this: A. 3/8 or 4/7 G. 5/6 M. 6/5 C. 7/4 Should be noted though that initial designs of the Maelstrom indicate a strangely low amount of mid slots for it's intended artillery and shield tanking design (both design concepts benefit most from mid slots rather than low slots). - Three years old |

I am....interested to see what the Abaddon will be. If it is 8 turrets/7 Launchers with an 5% armor resists and 5% rof bonus I will be happy (assuming it will have enough grid to fit beams). Otherwise it will just be a tachy boat for long range and I will still be using a Domi or Raven close range. It looks caldari enough ffs.
The Amarr tier 2 BC will be great if it has a -10% cap use and -5% rof with 8 turrets. If it has enough grid to fit smaller beams and a decent tank without fitting mods I will be joyous as Amarr will finally have a turret boat that will kick some major butt and be slightly better than the other turret boats, unlike the smaller versions like the Omen that have fewer turrets and WAY too little cpu/grid.
OTOH, with assault missiles coming in the new Caldari missile BC will probably just pwn everything. Especailly if it has the Ravens completely overpowered rof bonus instead of a Kin damage bonus. But hey, thats why I trained Heavy Missile Launcher II's for and will train Assault Missiles T2 as well. If you can't beat em, may as well exploit it with them.
Finally, the Tier 2 Minnie BC has missile launchers on the hull. If it's a fast missiling Stababond I will be buying one and flying it even if it is <ewwwww> Matari. Meridius can sentence me to 100 "Hail the Emporer, God Incarnate" and it will still be worth it.
I think the Gallente Tier 2 BC is going to pwn with Ogre IIs, but that goes without saying. Will be buying that as well.
After reading this, it appears that I am looking forward to the Tier 2 BCs the most.

i agree, the crapstrom will be quite a useless ship, at least if Tux didn't changed it recently... even if he seem more focused on blobs than on the poor minnies :P
the hurricane can be a good ship, most probable bonus seem to be +dmg +rof if turret or +rof +speed if missile (both good imo)
due to crapstorm "experience" i'm a bit scared by other stats, but we will see...
instead i'm very curious about the amarr BS, it could be a veeeeery good support/fleet ship but (almost) for sure not very suited for solo pvp.

I honestly feel that the Amarr BS is going to be the meanest addition to the game. Its slot layout is beautiful imho, and its bonuses mean it's going to be able to rip most ships apart even with the "crappy" amarr damage types. Plus, ya know, it's got a really nifty model.

1. There's more than one tier 3 or faction battleship. 2. Factions ships aren't your run-of-the-mill ships. They are rare and superior to the run-of-the-mill ships. If they are merely "different", then they are "obsolete" in purpose. - Three years old |
