Arrrgh!! I had just set course for another belt to hunt a few NPC whilst waiting for someone to enter local, when someone did. Typical! 30 AU to go before I could turn and warp to the gate. I had a suspicion which gate to head for, a suspicion that proved to be correct. There at 34km was a Gallente Thorax. I hit the boosters and headed over. No use, I saw their ship's engines tilt upwards. They were trying to escape to the other gate below. Quick as I could I followed suit and arrived with them closing in on the gate for a jump to safer systems. Stasis engaged! Scrambler engaged! Weapons activated! Orbit set to 7500m. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM! Shields gone! Armor down to 25%! Hull down to 75%!
WHERE'D THEY GO?!?!?
I turned just in time to see their ship disappear in the direction of nothing! Darn it, they must have had 2 stabs on and Safe-Spotted. It took me a while to realise what had happened. Local was empty! There was just me and the 2 sentry guns, now busy inflicting as much pain as they could on my armour. So, this time I took a sec hit just for the thrill of the chase. Next time, next time....

Logoff tactics are ghey tbh.
Take the name, kill him next time you see him - before he can log.

I love it when newbs think that they are invincible to killing and log off. I don't see them in local and I still got their ship scramed and I'm still blasting the crap out of it.
What's even more fun is sitting there, waiting for them to log back in and try to get the pod as it warps back into your blinking scram.

We had this happen while ganking a vexor (among other things, just the most recent example), we had him down to 50% structure after he had logged when *poof* his ship just disappeared into thin air (er... space?). Knowing that the average eve player wouldn't be able to just sit there logged out after getting jumped in a belt, we simply sat in the belt. Sure enough, not 5 minutes later, he logs back in, gets tackled for the second time and subsequently podded.
When someone logs off mid gank and they disappear (isn't the tactic to do so once agressed an exploit anyway?), add them to your address book and bookmark where they last where. When they log back in, warp to that spot, and you should be somewhere within 30km of them in the worst case scenario (you both wrap 15km from that spot, bad luck puts you 30km out, good luck inside scram range).

Yeah the amount of times someone has logged off after aggression with no stabs thinking it will save them is laughable. but also the amount of ppl who have logged off after going through a gate before they have decloaked is pathetic. 30 seconds and they're gone.

Heh, had that happen to me a few weeks back. A mega pilot thought she'd be safe by logging off while one of our inty's was orbiting her. Too bad she was scrammed. She came back an hour later to find just her pod. She then decided to dock at the station the moment I was undocking, sending her on her merry way to the fresh clone awaiting her.

Today I had a frigate log off at a 0.0 gate when I jumped through with my shuttle.

I've had people log off on me before and warp off. I've sat there and waited for them. I don't let those lamers get the best of me. I'll sit there as long as I need to, and then their corpse will decorate the hull of my ship. ===============================================

We probed yesterday a "smart" Solidline guy after he logged with agression, poped his Ferox but we didn`t catch the pod but after 5secs ( and about 10min after he logged out ) he logged back in ( maybe in the hope we left system for the fact of bordome by his lameness ) and warped right back into our arms while collecting his loot ! Priceless

Tried my first Yarrr attack on a frigate last night. Wiped out his shields and the swine logged out. I attacked in 0.6 space and the cops turned up a bit quicker than I had been led to believe, so they blew me away before he logged back on. I've a lot to learn about this pirating lark!!
