Since some people were worried about the new effects uncloaking them in asteroid belts, or that the FPS would be awful I decided to make a quick video on the test server of the new effects and test it out. You can see me cloaking in the effects and flying around while playing with some rats in the belt with the FPS monitor on and all graphics set to high.

I'm running on a 2 year old i5, with a GTX 660ti. Barely wobbles below 60fps (on interval 1. So 60 is the max it'll do with a 60hz monitor)

I think you mean "FPS monitor". For a moment there I was under the impression that we had some new DPS tracking or indication beyond the fitting panel.
I run two clients on a laptop that results in 10 FPS each on high graphics settings. That's pretty bad. I have two super hot video cards but have not had the time (as addicting as PCpartspicker.com can be) to build a new desktop. We'll see what these effects do to my laptop, a Lenovo W520 with 8GB RAM.

Looks good, are the asteroids still arranged in a semi circle?
A recovering btter vet, with a fresh toon and a determination to like everything that CCP does to Eve...

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I thought with CREST you could do it? Sort of like how some sites managed to play back the moves of the alliance tournament? Or is that just for special events? |

Never really thought about it, but now that you mention it that is all I saw. But then I don't mine at all so I can't really comment if all belts are like that. |

There are belts currently not arranged like that. Ones in big jumbles, with huge veldspar rocks scattered off a distance.

Confirming most of the asteroid belts are in a semi circular way. There are belts that are arranged in a funky pattern but generally most of the asteroid patterns from the warpin beacon will be within the range of a (Orca bonused) strip miner. |

The effect on FPS is quite dependent on your hardware. The new asteroid fields drop my FPS to 1.7
