This is just a small question for fellow piwats out there but i want to know what you would have done in a similar situation.
I was raoming around low sec with an eye on the scanner for a possible victim when i spotted a Bestower mining with no guard, almost thinking it was too good to be true i warped in and engaged, his tech 2 meds gave me a good fight but i still came out on top, he was in structure and i demanded a ransom. He eventually aggreed to the invite, i demanded the ransom but he cailmed not to be able to understand me on account of his bad english. I kept saying ok im going to count down to 10 but he kept saying he couldnt understand and seamed to be taking a very long time in replying. I was getting more and more jittery thinking about the possibility of his friends warping in to have a word with me. Eventually i snapped and shot him down, took the loot and jumped to a safe spot expecting local to start filling up with members of his corp but nothing happened and then a message poped up in the com : "Why did you do that?", he seamed genuinly upset and felt absolutly awful.
What would you have done?

If it gets to 10 kill and lock pod

again if you reach 10 pop! 
If they have a decent counteroffer and respond promptly I may accept and givem an extra 10 seconds.
in systems when the customer is the only local I relax on time restrictions a little. but I do warn him. if any one enters local you'r BBQ so I sugest you hurry 
Feeling awful is not for pirates. it may hapen in the begining but if you intend to keep at it. get rid of the guilt

You probably found someone from overseas who works for one of those sites that sells ISK, they are NORMALY the only ones who cannot understand basic english (its a little hard to play the game if you cant read anything) so they were probably just coached how to mine and dump it and send it to X player. Dont feel too bad.

question did he have a bio... what language was that in. if its in german then obviously speak simple english to him i.e. the xx mill in 10 seconds, but if his bio is in english then he was taking the **** :)
at first it can be hard to pirate, the first time i shot at someone i nearly passed out .. sounds silly, but i literally started swaying due to the adrenaline and yeah i felt guilty afterwards, but it passes with time.
the only thing i try not to do unless i am desperate to shoot someone is shoot people under 1 month old as they generally have nothing decent, and the ship they are in may very well be all they have.

Yes, every non englsih player is a macroer. Especially ones in lowsec alone
Give him a countdown, once a convo is opened allow no more than 30 seconds or so unless you have a dialogue going and its heading somewhere.
Count it down 30...29...28. You don't have to be English to understand the implications of that.
Oh, and I'm guessing you meant covetor or retreiver...

A couple times I have had someone unable to understand the ransom demand for poor english, at which point I simply type the number into chat (once you have stopped shooting, of course). Still taking too long? Just finish them off, anyone could play dumb to try and stall for time while you arent shooting to repair and go for round 2 and/or give their buddies time to get into system.
Pretty much if anyone new comes in local while I'm ransoming you, I finish you off. Don't care if they're an entirely different corp, So act fast because you will die if Johnny Everynoob jumps in to find some jaspet. Not to mention 99.99% of the time I'd prefer to see an explosion and hear your pod go squish than make a profit in the first place

allowing someone to pay a ransom is a favor. If they don't understand that or don't want to pay, cook em'.

Since when did Bestowers (which is a hauler) start carrying drones and mining without guards in low sec ?

I've attacked a LOT of players who don't speak english. What happens? They lose their ship and their pod. Simple as that. Just one more way to ensure America's plans of world domination are projected across the internet

The only two times I've ever given someone more time, 1st stalled till his friend in a Scorp warped in, 2nd he came back with a friend in a frig.
Both times I got the kills and got out, but it could have went the other way.
After the second attempt I cut out the nice guy crap, no more bonus time, 20 seconds for money or a killmail.

Also he had no bio and local was staying steady at around 5, guess i should go straight for the pop then...

I only speak English.
However, I understand sfhdgjlhdg 10mil sgdfhgfdhfd just fine. Whether the gibberish is German, Chinese, or Russian... The intent of piracy is pretty straightforward.
I say blast 'em anyways, but if you have to show ransom mercy give them 10 seconds no excuses.
