Im going to be getting an Armageddon soon and am just looking for some pointers on different layouts. ie mining, npc, pvp.

It's a damn good ship for mining with 7 Miner 2's and 9 harvesters.
It's also a pretty good ship for NPC chaining. Setup would probably be 5 mega beams and 2 modulated heavy beams. And with 5 cap relays + heat sinks in the lo slots. hardneres + booster in med.
For PvP it has very limited use. It's useless for 1vs1. However, in larger fights it is very useful. It's awesome fire power combined with the fire from other ships will take down enemies fast. It can also serve the purpose of a bait.

My brother's current Armageddon load out for NPC hunting is as follows:
High
4 x Tachyons
3 x Anode Particle Streams
1 x Medium Photon Smartbomb
Medium
1 x MWD
1 x Large Shield Booster
1 x F-B10 Cap Recharger
Low
2 x Co-processor 1
1 x Extruded Heat Sink
1 x Cap Relay
4 x Power Diagnostic 1
Works well chaining mid to high rats

No, it won't work with high end rats.
Those 4 power diags needs to be switched to cap realys, 1 CPU shwitched to another extruded.
That MWD can't be fitted either.

I'm sorry, but you forgot it's armageddon not apoc :) tehre's no way you can take out 4 pds and still fit 4 tachyon 
btw, I always wonder why the hell anybody want to fit tachyon if you are going for npc hunting?

Yea... I didn't bother to count on what weapons he can fit. I myself am only using heavy modulated beams for NPCs.

i know ill get flamed for doing so but i use 2 tachs 2 heavy mod beams 2 medium smart bombs medium is annonited em ward large shiled booster sensor dampner and here is where the flames begin 1photonic and all the rest is filled with extrudeds........here is where i differ from most as i dont want to be fighting any longer than i have to so go for the big hitter approach as each of the tachs does between 480-1200 and the heavy mods between 190-400.....ive never farmed npc's i always liked to kill them quick and pick up a few cans then im recharged when next lot spawn that way i always know who is around
