I have dealt with many corps, but I must say that this is the first time I will release the convo between a possible client and myself. I am posting this for one reason, and one reason only: business. I have nothing personal against the members of Deathstar International or their affiliate corp, Deathstar Academy. I just found that they are severly lacking in maturity and corporate skills. I would like to educate all who read on what not to do if you are contacted by someone (or me) about intelligence on an enemy corp. Before I paste the convo's between myself and the corp leaders, understand one thing-- i am just a business person. My business is intelligence. I am not truly attempting to make Deathstar a laughing stock of Eve Space-- they've done that themselves... read below to find out. True something like an enemyloc would be useful, especially when you are at war, but I don't know of anyone I would pay that much for. You're asking that person to pay more than the highest current bounty for only a location...there is no guarantee that he'll even bag the guy. You did appear quite pushy in your convo though...that'd set off warning bells in my head. The guy you were contacting didn't know your affiliation or whether or not your info was accurate in terms of loadout, location, and accompanying party. He's got no way of getting that money back once it's been passed. Straight transfers of money in my eyes should always be looked at as if you weren't going to get the goods for your purchase. Frankly if something is worth money then its worth the risk of revealing your true identity. Mutual trust in the transaction means using mains; that way both parties have something to lose. Sorry m'dear, but I despise the "alt" information trading culture ... it smacks of people wanting to play the intel game with no guts or sense of adventure. I have an excuse though, I got that indiana jones box set today so I've been watching all the making of stuff. I was informed who this Kajin guy was by DSIN, just because our corps are at war does not mean that we don't talk with eachother from time to time. Kajin probably saw me while I was taking a quick run to HQ to move some stuff out of my hanger and freaked out or something. Though I knew he was playing a scam when he said that I had a mining setup hehe. I haven't had any miners equipped outside of HQ in at least a week. Like Mike stated in his reply, Mike knows exactly where our HQ is, and always had, we have never tried to hide our location from DSIN. When DSIN feels ready to track me down and own me it will be on their own terms, not buying overpriced fake info from alt characters. Either way I respect Mike and Shylan's reactions to this guy. It's quite obvious hes really new to the game and doesn't understand the logistics of hunting down players. An unknown (probable alt of your enemy) person contacts you and offers you the location of another player with no proof, claims to know his setup, again with no proof, insults you and rushes you to a decision, on top of that asks 25mil... anyone who accepts to those kinda terms should be banned from this game. Lets play the "what if" game now. What if Kajin was a spy from OTA or a scammer, CEO loses 25mil instantly, which could have been used to buy 5-6 cruisers. What if CEO pays up and Nails moves to another location right after, 25mil lost again. What if they come in with a fleet, and Nails logs off? Lost 25mil there again. What if they come in and Nails simply sits at a midwarp point? No chance in finding him, lost 25mil there again. What if they warp in, and its a trap, or Nails has backup? An easy kill is turned into an all-out battle, lost 25mil there again. Ugh this game sucks, where is Viceroy when you need him..
