We are an established combat wing, born as the Lancers in order to defend and protect Freelancing Corp from thieves, pirates and unreasoning aggressors - an informal grouping of freelancers looking to test our mettle against the fiercest members of Eve's spacefaring community. As Eve politics changed, and corporations turned to alliances, the Lancers were reborn as the Starlancers. Still fighting the good fight but defending over 800 Confederation of Independant Corporations pilots spread across the entirety of known space.
As the alliance grew, and wars came and went, an increasing number of pilots came out to fight and we began to see a pattern in the opponents we faced - mercenaries need to keep in practice in a saturated market, pirates sometimes need a change of scene, the infamous of the future need kills to make a name for themselves. And they do this by warring on corps and alliances which seem like easy, undefended targets.
The Eve galaxy remains a dangerous place; piracy and war are forever a threat, and even among the peaceful there remains the need for warriors - determined men and women prepared to fight and die for those in need. With CiC ably defended by an increasing number of fighters, Starlancers were free to seek new challenges and to make our skills available to a wider community.
Who We Are
We are an established corp of experienced and skilled empire fighters setting out on a new path, but remaining true to our original ideals.
We are freelancers by nature - making money in the way we choose, living and travelling where we desire, and forging our own destinies.
We have been warriors by necessity, but now also by choice - we fight when we're needed, but we take no orders and submit to no authority.
We will specialise in defending newb, small and/or non-aggressive corps and alliances from unwarranted attack and unwanted war. We will not become privateers for corps and alliances looking for others to do their dirty work. And we will not resort to piracy under guise of war to fill the slow times.
We're small in number, but fierce in our resolve, striving always towards our ideal - Protection with Honour.
Who We're Looking For
Starlancers is open for recruitment and seeking skilled pilots with experience and/or an active interest in PvP. People who are prepared to fight and die for our clients. People who want to live as an Eve merc, but without piracy on the side. People who are prepared to fight honourably for those in need rather than for those who just want someone else to do their killing for them.
You will need a minimum of 2-3 million skill points, predominantly in areas relevant to combat. We use Ventrilo, and expect our members to be active on, or at least regularly visit, our forum. You will need to be able to support yourself financially and willing to commit to a strict avoidance of piracy in doing so. You will need to be able to fight without smacktalking.
If you think you fit the bill, then get hold of us.
How To Apply
In the first instance you should contact and talk with a Starlancers director, either by mail or convo, before making an application.

Just a quick one to say thankyou to everyone thats already replied, however, we do emphasise the 2-3 million minimum skill points and also the fact that we will not take you on if you have a history of piracy (unwarranted negative standing or pirate corp in your history). |

Great bunch of people, my former co-pilot Alley-Cat flew with them for months. Good luck with the recruiting and welcome to the merc business.

Edited by: Nuala Reece on 23/09/2006 01:20:10 Page 2? I found it on page 6 Such a thing cannot be countenanced for a corp of our unique qualities
We've made a good start as mercs of honour in Eve and, naturally, recruitment will continue in the gaps between our contracts. Feel free to mail or drop into our public channel and let us know if you're interested. There may be a short wait if we're on a contract, but waiting is part of the merc biz anyway and we'll be happy to get to know you in the meantime and let you know whenever we're free to take in new fighters.

We're going to war shortly, and so will suspend recruitment for the duration. However, we're still happy to see interested people in our public channel and get to know you in the interim.

This defeinately sounds like the sort of corp I would be interested in. Just have a few skills to work on, maybe get a bit more practice in solo PvP, and I could see myself applying for a spot in your wing.
Question: In your battles, what sort of ships do you generally deploy? I ask because my training is currently leading towards covert ops and other elite frigates. If you knew the number Of the steps you'd ever take Bitter, I wonder Would you run or cease to walk? |

Recruitment is open once again. We're looking to boost our numbers, both for EU and US timezones. While we have no qualms about taking in relatively new people and training them up we are primarily, at this point, interested in people with more experience in eve and of PvP with the ability to fly a variety of ship types effectively.
If you're interested in PvP, experienced in anti-pirate work, or just looking to put your combat skills to use for a good cause, get in touch with us and let us know. People with a pirate background or membership of pirate corps in their employment history need not apply - it's not that we don't like you, it's just that I don't like to disappoint people who've made the effort to make themselves known - in order to maintain our credibility with the people we work for we have never recruited, nor will we recruit, anyone who has made a living out of piracy. Anyone else, make yourself known, and see what happens.

Should have mentioned, we're doing a little restructuring at the moment - removing inactives to make room for active, and involved, new people, developing our capabilities as a group, etc. So now's a perfect time to have a say and make a mark in an up and coming corp.
