I think they're mad at the idea that these players are trying to make it so that it is outright illegal to shoot someone in hi. (I.e. they want 100% safety enforced by game mechanics). There is nothing wrong with "wanting" to play without shooting another player ... the problem comes in when the people who want this expect that their gameplay desires to be enforced on everyone else (even though they're the antithesis of EVE). So if those people would get off their soapbox about how "evil" or sociopathic (etc.) that the "bad guys" of EVE are, and just see it for the "valid gameplay" that it is, there would be less of a problem. Not saying that the ganking crowd is 100% "in the right" here, but that the problem here stems out of some subset of players "not getting EVE". One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
