So I'm in this alt setting up some insta jumps (that I learned about here today)in .4 security space that has a pirate gang always gate camping. I'm in the beginner ship and I go to a base to dock, when of course, someone jumps me...
But I'm already accepted for docking, so no damage is done to me... I quickly undock to find my assailents ship destroyed by the base defenses and his capsule floating outside of the base...
I never knew my first Pod kill would feal so good!!!

What are insta-jumps and where exactly did you learn about them "here". By-the-way congrats on turning the tables.

There are several guides on the forums for making "instas". You can find them using EVE-Search or the search function on the top-right of the forums.
Basically, they are Bookmarks. The theory is (since you can warp to within 15km of an object) that you make a Bookmark 15km (actually, 13km works better) beyond where you want to warp to. This places you exactly on top of warp gates, for example, rather than 15km out. It works well for Gate to Gate travel (gtg), and can either be done manually by oneself or by purchasing packages of bookmarks through the Escrow system.
But yah, search around for some of the guides on how to make & use them. Instas are very handy for dodging about pirate-infested regions, and also for reducing travel time in general if you have a slow industrial making a long journey.
