So I have trained up a bit in Gallente ships and it is a nice change from missile boats. I start playing around with Thorax and came to the realization just how impossible those things are to fit on the thorax even with good powergrid skills. Looking at many thorax fitting thread, it seems a lot of people would rather fit small blasters and rail guns. It seems fitting those on thorax is out of question, so for people who have experience with those weapons, are those hybrid guns worth it to fit on any ship, say a Brutix for example, when they eat so much grid and gimps your tank?

250mm is alright for PvE but I think you need one fitting mod to make a full rack happen even with good skills.
Heavy Neutrons are reserved for gank ships with little or no tank. I've never seen anything beyond Ions fit in a tanked setup on a Brutix (or an Astarte for that matter).

Depends on your playing style and how good your fitting skills are.
The Brutix I find generally suits an Electron/Ion setup because I like having a good tank and it's pretty hard to fit.
If you take another ship, like the Megathron for example, one of the best gang setups is a plated Neutron gank setup. You've haven't got a very good regenerative tank, but that hardly matters when you're popping battleships before you can say 'WTFBBQ!'.

I actually like 200mm railguns. I think they do like 10% less DPS than 250s but have almost 20% better tracking.
I know on some hybrid ships it's possible to get more DPS out of 200mms and damage mods than 250mms and fitting mods.

Take one Brutix, Add a touch of Neutron Blaster, liberally sprinkle with damage mods and watch stuff cook.
got over 800 wrecking shot with the t2 neutrons (on hull tbf) which was nice. printed it out and laminated it and it now sits over the picture i have of my gf in her knickers. -------------

Only reason to downgrade to frig size guns is if you want oversized plate. Otherwise, just go for smaller cruiser guns. This is not just the case for hybrids, but for all turrets.

250mm Rail II's with spike on a thorax makes a damn nice support killer, pack it full of tracking mods & mag stabs and it does about 260dps at 100km.
You're royally ****** if something gets close (I usually take warrior II's just in case) though. The range advantage of 250mm II's over 200mm II's is pretty big which is the only reason I use them over 200's.
