After grinding lvl 3 for some time now ive trained up the relevant tecII stuff and would like to have a go at lvl 4's I have a few questions tho which i hope people can answer :-)
1) Are Lvl 4 missions in high (0.6 +) easier than ones in 0.5 and below? (Ive seen posts saying they are but also ones saying there exactly the same)
2) For Med slots is it better to have some drone tracking kit to speed up the kills or just to max out with Cap Recharger II in all 5 slots?
3)Im fitting 2 X LAR II and 4 Hardners with my last slot should i go for a CPR II or a damage control ? Im wondering if I did go for 5 X Cap recharger II in meds that having some kind of extra resists might be preferable?

In meds I use mostly cap chargers and maybe an ab if I'm sick of making the trek all the way to that freaking gate 80km away.
I used a cap power relay in that last slot. Maybe the extra resist granted by the dc will offset the cap regen lost from no cpr, but if are going to use any guns whatsoever on top of the two large armor reps, I'd go for recharge.
I'm not an uber dom pilot t2 everything yet, so its just my piddly .02 iskies. ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

flying lvl4s with a domi for weeks and weeks now. solo'd all, lost 2 domis learning.
i fit 2 drone tracking links on mishes, where i know i can handle aggro, and all cap rechargers when i know im gonna be blobbed.
last low gets a 25% CPR, highs get 5x dual 250 and a drone link thingy. -- Only you can save MMORPGS - Stop whining today! |

I'm a bit lazy, so I try to change my setup as little as possible.
1) I have done a lot of missions in high sec and low sec, and I haven't noticed any difficulty difference. The main difference is that in high sec, there are a lot of players in systems where high quality agents are located. There's a bit less in low sec. So I thought it was a bit easier going to low sec as you get rid of some of the lag (and the rewards are better).
2) I go for 5x cap recharger II's, because then I can run one of my LAR II's as well as everything else forever. The second LAR II can be used in bursts when needed.
3) I go for the damage control. The extra resists are nice, and it has saved my life many times. On some missions, the DPS you suffer can increase quite suddenly, and it's nice to have that little extra buffer in case you need to warp out.

Agent quality don't effect missions themself, just the payout and standing increases afaik.

Yeah the missions are identical (in every aspect). You will just be earning LP's quicker in low sec, and also better rewards.

Edited by: Liam Fremen on 19/09/2006 13:28:36 Edited by: Liam Fremen on 19/09/2006 13:24:06 Well, actualy i use the following:
Hi: 2x Drone Link Augmentator (80km range is realy handly when you want to farm mission :) ) 1x Small Tractor Beam (while you walk slowly between gates you grab stuff)/ small laser for aggro 3x Heavy Diminishing Nosferatu (top named "normal" heavy nosferatu, very handly)
Med: 1x Drone Navigation (it increase drone mwd speed, very handly while using ogre's at 80km) 1x Omnidirectional Tracking Link (it boost very much damage of ogre's and give them the ability to frag frigates/inty in no time) 3x Cap Recharger II (cap is always needed :) )
Low: 2x Large Armor Repair II (or 1 Large 1 Med, chose, but i prefer 2 large) 4x Active Armor Hardener II (2x damage type) 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten (give you 10.400 total armor that is a good "pool" for resisting the first high damage of missions)
Whi this fitting:
Just beacause the 3 cap recharger can sustain nearly forever 1 repper, 4 hardeners give you resistance around 85% vs gruistas or gally, when there is trouble the 3 nosferatu nearly sustain completely a large repper t2, 400 cap every 12 sec VS 360 every 12 sec from the nossing.
The 80km range is realy handly, even in belts so you just move less, without ab there are a few ships that stay very far, like 40-50km and without drone link augmentator is veeeery long time getting them!! so better having range :)
The drone navigation can be replaced with another cap recharger, and if you place a med repper in low instead of one large you can place a 10mn Ab T2, and be a bit faster!
If you know that you will not need the 80km range, but 60 will be ok (or you have electronic warfare drone that boost you up to 15km) you should fit a small laser or similar for aggroing you enemy, with the base fitting you have to make them get angry just moving, and without ab can be long :) btw if you are alone the problem is not so big, if you are in party where aggroing everything is needed well... it's different.
I love this fitting, it tanks like HELL, is pretty tight, but it fit :)
EDIT: i forgot you can remove the 1600 plate and fit an AB 10 T2 while fitting another t2 hardener or a cap power relay :)

Low sec agents pay better, but more risk.
About setup, i'm doing all my LVL4 solo with this domi setup : H : 1x Drone Link Augmentator, 1x Heavy Diminishing Nosferatu, 4x 250mm Railgun II (low cap use, and with Spike/Antimatter ammo)
M : 1x Omnidirectional Tracking Link, 1x Web, 2x Cap Recharger II, 1x Heavy Cap Booster with 800's
L : 1x Medium and 1x Large Armor Repair II, 1x Damage Control and a tank according to mission
This setup has never failed me before and with all T2 drones, even the longest missions can be done in reasonable time.
I shoot the damn frigs first coz they can scramble and web, usually are all killed before they get close (love the spike ammo there with my fast light drones). The Med Armor Repair I can leave going on forever with the tank, and when im in need of more repair, I hit the Cap Booster + Large Armor repair
Ofcourse, having good droneskills help alot -- Do YOU know, the Whirlwind? HERE |
