FYI
Just did a clean install of Vista RC1 and then installed EVE. (HP Pavillion Notebook w/ GeForce Go 7600).
EVE complains that DX 9.0c isn't installed. Just select "run anyway" and it works like a charm with no other modifications (registry hack not needed or XP compatibility mode).
I am soooo happy... :-)

not so lucky for me when i try to run eve and click yes my computer get a blue screen crashes and i have to turn power off.

Ditto. No joy on Vista RC1 for me either.  Not that I NEEDED it to run there, I was just curious to see if it COULD run there on one of my backup machines. If people who get it to run could note anything special they had to do to get it up here, I think that would be helpful. Cheers!

well i do as I am unable to play eve intill i find a way. as its was done on the main computer(the only one that has the specs to play eve) wipeing xp.

I am running Eve on Vista RC1.
It runs okay, but a bit slow.

Wow, because I'm getting 72fps and I don't think the GeForce Go 7600 is that top of the line. I also noticed that moving to Vista increased my DSL speed from around 75kbps to 90kbps on the download side. That was a nice suprise since I'm at the end of the line on my DSL hub.
I guess I was lucky...

I am running vista on the following:
Evga 7800GTX
AMD 64 4000+ Proc
2 gigs of memory
WD Raptor 74gb primary drive
Dell 24" widescreen LCD
The OS runs fine, Eve is a bit sluggish. Several second pauses when doing things, horrible delay during moderate size battles.
Then again, that could just be Eve. ;-)
