I currently have about 1.2 million SP, and Im running lvl2 missions in my Vexor cruiser. These missions kinda bore me since they are very easy. Drones eat everything while I fly around looting, often with not even my shield dropping (and Im armor tanked).
So I wanna upgrade to lvl3 missions, and Im wondering what kind of ship and fitting would require the smallest amount of SP investment to do pretty much all lvl3s.
About 550k of my SP is in drones (drones 5, drone interfacing 4), can currently fly Gallente and Caldari cruisers.

Any of the battlecruisers can do Level 3's adequately well. A passive-tanked missile Ferox is generally considered the best of the lot.

however a well tanked out vexor with good long range drone skills, eg scout lv 4 can do some of the easyer lv 3 missions. as long as you keep out of medum gun and missile ranges and keep agro of your drones

Alright thanks, any tips for how high I need my skills before I can take on the hardest lvl3 missions in a BC? (guessing gurista extravaganza is hardest).

If you train up for a domi, it wont take TOO many support skills to be able to very easily run LVL III's.
You will need:
5 x Heavy drones.
Large armor rpr. and skills for active hardners.
the rest of your slots are just filled up with cap relays, or cap rechargers.

If you try doing level 3 skills in a Brutix (the logical progression from a Vexxor) you main focus should be on your tanking skills and consequently your energy management skills. A lot of the harder level 3 missions require more in the way of a good tank to survive them and the Brutix has a very good tank on it.
You don't massive number of skills to fly the ship, just so long as your tank is good and you know what to expect on the missions.

I was doing level 3's in a Minmatar BC pretty comfortably at about 1.2M skillpoints, but the total is not as important as how it's distributed. For the most part, it's more useful to have lots of support skills up in the 3-4 range than it is to have just a few key skills at 5.
