Current Situation: Contracts from around New Eden are visible everywhere, because these are quite different from typical market transactions.
Problem: You can only view contracts not in your region, you cannot accept them. This results in trying to start a conversation, or mailing the person who listed it, to try and get them to set it to a private contract, which DOES allow you to then accept it.
Solution: Just allow any contract to be acceptable from any location. Make the game easier to play.
I figure, if there is a way to do it, may as well just make it easy, and reduce clickage to spend money. |

Would you look at that it causes you to interact with another player it's almost like that is the overarching theme to eve
alternatively you could just fly to that region if you reeeealy didn't want to interact with another human being |

I did consider that a lot, no doubt about it. But the thing that caught me, is why should private contracts be the only way to accept contracts cross-region. Private contracts are for direct exchange of goods between two pre-determined parties.
You should have the same functionality in public contracts vs private. At least, to me. |

counter question why should dev time be spent on this when not only is it promoting player interaction but also isn't much of an inconvenience |

I'm assuming (which, knowing EVE code, I suppose is a bad thing) that this would not be a major project. Most releases contain a few things under the 'little things' type of title. If this would be a huge project, then yeah I would not like to see a lot of Dev time dedicated to it. No argument there.
The other thing is, what if you want to grab a contract in a 0.0 region? Not always feasible to get there.
I understand the player interaction bit, but I see it more as a functionality thing. Not to mention most people in-game are under the impression that you can just accept the public contract from wherever. So you get people refusing to go through the few simple motions of re-listing a contract to you privately. |

if its in null you would have to get it there anyway or just pay some one to pick it up
this also gives an advantage to being in certain regions to buy/sell giving people an opportunity to buy in one place and profit by moving it to another |
