This issue was one I wasn't aware which was called to my attention when killed and podded.... because I couldn't dock.
I understand most of these delays are put in place to twart people interested in exploiting things... but in my case it prevented me from doing an entirely legitimate action.
I don't know why it is in place, but I want to reccomend a change, so if this happens to someone else they won't loose they're pod as well.
Only have this apply to ships... not pods....
I think it would be better if there was no delay, but it's obviously there for a reason.
Please don't accuse me from being a sore looser, I lost a T1 frig worth under half a mil and a clone with no implants. I merely think this is a stupid... but fixable, way to go and I'm trying to save people some grief with better ships later on.

It's a standard session change 30 sec timer. It's the same for jumping/(un)docking/switching ships/gang invites/leaving gang....
Everytime session changes, you have to wait 30 secs before you can anything that would require a session change.
If you shot back, you got aggro timer, which is I'm not sure 30 secs or 1 min. In that period you cannot jump or dock. You have to stop shooting, tank for 30 sec or a minute and then you can dock/jump.
I dunno if you got caught in a session change or aggro timer. Aggro timer has a pretty damn good reason to be there, session change timer is prolly there because of technical issues.

ive seen gang actions been exploited like that to kill people before :S
1. invite camped in station hugger/redocker to gang 2. they join gang, either through stupidity or trying to be smart and getting intel 3. they undock 4. gang leader gives them leadership, or kicks them from gang and then engages. they cant dock because of the gang timer. they die.

I'm not sure i would call this an exploit. Its borderline yes, but not an exploit. The victim can just leave gang before undocking, and advoid the entire problem.

How is this not a bloody exploit? Was the gang system meant to be used to gank members? I think not.
