Mission Briefing:
I want you tiller, to goto the following system in a 3bill isk ship. On the way get stuck at the gate for 10mins in a queue 1 person long for any fool to gank. Once you get to the destination use your faction smart bomb on the frigates and lock up your client with lag.
Once you have rebooted your PC please log on and enjoy the 22% hull you have left and wait for your ship to rejoin the fully aggrod spawn with no cap or shield.

When you add in Officer, Complex, COSMOS, and faction goodies 3b is about right.

Meh, I thought you could forever-XLshieldboost with a properly "officer/faction" fitted CNR 
Who the frak flies a 3 bil grand total ship that isn't "disconnect-proof" ?

Get real Tiller, everyone knows missions are NO risk easy isk, they are far too easy,
you must have been posting on the forums and forgot about the mission.
You was lucky to still have your ship, just asking though, would you petition if you lost it?

That out of the way, I can sympathsize. I'd never do a low sec mission in a cnr or otherwise expensive ship tho. Just asking for Murphy to come and prove his law still works. And if you went gallente / amarr, well, let's leave it at perma-armor tanks > disconnect.

lol, yeah I asked for that ... forum whoring used to help with piracy, don't seem so good against NPC.
The ship survived but if it went boom I'd just put it down to bad luck and leave it at that.

Yep it's where caldari shield tanks fall over, you generally disconnect when your booster aint running. Only so much you can take with just hardeners and DCU running.
It was weird how much lag the smart bomb created, instant client lock. Won't be fitting one again...

I can sympathise - although not to anything like the same scale, I have suffered a similar disaster. A month or so old in my brand new ferox with some nice named launchers. Not your 3 billion but to me at the time a huge invenstment (still would hurt a couple of months later but not as much). Thought I would try a lvl 3 for the first time.
Playing safe and aligned for jump. Killed some stuff but when the cap starts to run low I jump out - already aligned so cut it fairly fine, warping..... wait...wait...wait...disconect. Reboot, log back in. Ferox at about 10% hull returning to the fight. Warps me in at range of about zip. Damn, realign on something quickly..too slow..boom.
There are those who say mission are risk free - not true. Low risk maybe but definitely not risk free.

- NPCs now have client crash attack to augment their ECM ships, and now accurately model 'blob lag' tactics.

At least they dont copy bookmarks into their cargo to lag you out yet :)
