In the near future I intend to wander out to some 0.0 base where my new alliance is established.
I'm thinking that I want to be flying a Dominix (normally my battleship of choice), and I cant be bothered getting the instas for the whole route.
What would people recomend as a travelling set up? I'm thinking something along the lines of: Highs: including 2 or 3 heavy nos, 2 large smart bombs (they take up a lot of cargo space and I want them at the destination) Mids: Microwarp drive, Ecm x4 Lows Nanofibre x6, Large Armour repairer.
Do people think that this would work better than something involving lots of warp core stabilizers? I'm hoping that having decent manoverability and target jamming should allow me to get away from one or two tackers more effectivly than stabilzers.
What do you all think is a good travelling setup for a lone battleship going though sparsely populated 0.0?

pack 2-4 stabs, considering changing the large armor repairer for a light shield tank.

And why would you think that would be preferable? Having an armour rep allows recovery to a fully repaired ship without visiting a station.
Having ecm can have an equivelent effect to having stabs.
Naving nanofibres might allow an escape before bad stuff happens, and makes travelling to 15km gates less time consuming.
What is so great about having stabs and a shield tank?

Instas + Nanofiber + Your fingers hovering over CTRL+Q, while you watch local like a hawk - works every time.

i wonder if i could purchase a female sig and make some siglets..... |

ECM doesn't do any good if you're locked first. Your setup is vulnerable to wolfpack-type setups. imo probably the best way to go would be the 5-6 WCS, LAR, maybe plate or eanm depending on preference. You could get some a sensor booster or two and ecm in the mids. Not that I'm some sort of ninja or anything, but seems to me that with this setup, you're strong against small gangs of inties and you should be able to jam bs and get out of there if needed.
Bubble camps might still be a big problem flying a large green dump truck such as the dominix.
Alt scout pilot for the win! Even on the same account you could do it if you're patient and careful. You may also find that an alt in a shuttle setting instas may get you where you're going faster than trying to use stealth and WCS or a speed fitted Domi. I dunno for sure-let us know how you do!

Thats a pretty sad indication of the state of EvE today when an ASCN person writes that.

Personally, I would do 3wcs/3nano or 4wcs/2nano and your repper in lows. The greatest fear I would have would be getting scrammed and hence 'pinned' on a gate eating a pummelfest.
Ecm is nice, but since you don't know what you will come across you are probably using multis (I like 'hypnos' on that front) but it won't save you imho. If you come across two ships, most likely one of them is going to be locking you and hence scrambling you. You get locked down by a couple ships and can't ecm them and before long there are a lot of friends and you are dead.
I would also put a proto cloak in a high. The reason being if things did get ugly and you were getting chased, you could safespot and cloak and wait out the heat.

It was meant sarcastically, didnt go so well into text though. CCP is unwilling to do anything about it, so if you lack moral fibre, you may as well use it. From my observations though, 9 out of 10 hostiles I meet do indeed lack moral fibre. :(
Personally I just safespot instead. Scan probes wont find you if you bounce back and forth.

I wouldn't go with those lows.
It will take you some time to get to warp, enough for even non-sensor boosted bs to lock and scramble you.
Imo it's better to warp fast enough so the bigger ships can't lock you. 3-4 wcs should do, fill the rest with nano's.

Or maybe just go battle ready.
Most inties will just leave you alone - as they know they are gonna pop 10 seconds after your lights pop out.
Loan HAC - or even a pair = meh.
Pair of BS's = meh
And if you run into a camped bubble, well your F'ed anyways.

That or like said, 3 WCS rest Nanos.

That is by far the best travel setup.

Stabs and nanofibres use up your low slots, so you have no room for an armour tank thats worth a crap.
Hence the shield tank.
