well, the idea was good, the implementation needs some work.
looks like something blew the roid belts to smithereens
I have to revert back to the old look ... need less clutter for me!  |

There's an option in the graphic settings to turn it on. It is turned off by default. |

I like the additional rocks, even though ships fly straight through them. With the new shadow rays, they both make asteroid belts look very gritty which is what I expected when I first played eve. I hope the same thing will follow with the ice belts and that shadow rays are introduced into other areas of eve (missions, gas fields and other sites where its particularly messy).
Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

Actually, they are in ice belts and any missions that have regular asteroids you can mine, except in missions all these new effects stack on top of the cluster of old mission environment effects and its pretty darn terribad. In some of the missions you can barely see structures 50k away.
Also, the Light Rays even though enabled separately, will not actually display until Asteroid Environment is turned on, which is a shame as I really don't need all that sprite looking clutter all over my screen. And it mostly just looks like a huge cluster of dark dots from a normal zoomed out view. |

I think CCP has learned to turn off new features by default to avoid post like omg my computer/graphics card is so old it's melting and or lagging to death. |

Miners spend so little time at the keyboard anyways, why even bother listening to them when it comes to game design?
CCP, can you improve the Netflix homepage for miners? Its seems to be their most utilized feature.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

esc -> graphics -> uncheck option that you turned it on with, then you are 'back'

Actually...it's be kind of cool to fly through the new belts with all that dust and little rocks flying around....and have impact sounds coming through your headset.
