Edited by: William Hart on 20/09/2006 05:31:46 A few ways this could be done, have two seperate overviews, one for:
Things you would like to lock (war targets, negative standings, NPC rats), things you wouldn't like to lock (stations, gates, etc).
Reason being? One misclick can mean you are toast, and seperate overviews would be cool.
[Selected Item] Controls relating to currently selected item (gate, station, ship, whatever)
[Primary Overview] War Target People aggressed to you Drones belonging to any of the above
[Secondary Overview] Some noob in a reaper watching the fight Some guy in a freighter who wont be gone any time soon Stargates & Stations - these rarely need to be locked I like to keep planets & belts on overview, as well as POS gear, so these can go here
Anybody else like this idea? How could it be done to be most user friendly?
Maybe let us have as many "Overviews" as we like, and each using different filter sets like we have now. Then maybe in the scanner window give us a drop-down list of filter sets we can use to scan.
Well there. Please, please, don't let me lose another ship to locking the wrong guy, heh.

I like this idea, I'd also like to be able to relocate the overview window. I'm playing ultra-widescreen and the overview window is WAY the heck over on the side, I'd like to be able to place it where I want it.

Man thats a great idea! Wait, it's already in game!
Right click on the arrow right before it says overview in the overview window, and select "open overview settings". Under filters you can set your "types" and "states", then save this setting as whatever you want. Most people have several combat overviews saved.

The man wants to have to separate "Overview" windows open at the smae time, each with it's onw filter settings.

Read the man's post before you roll your eyes at him FFS
Here's some uses for you unimaginitive station huggers: Gate/station camps: Neutrals the hell off the damn overview Complex running: NPCs + Players in one overview, cans, structures in the other Mining: Roids in one overview for easy selection, players/npcs in other for easy detection! Covert-ops: Have ships in one overview and all the **** you don't want to uncloak you in the other (cans, corpses, drones)
