This is a general thread about EVETV. For those of you that tuned into last July Alliance Tournament I like to hear your feedback about the broadcasting, set, structure and most importantly things you would like to see for next time.
For those of you that do not know me, I was the Director of last seasonĘs production. This time round there are so many things we like to change and add to the broadcast. Some of those changes being.. a flasher set, more alliance and player submissions (as in interviews and videos), new experts and commentators and over all crisper look to EVETV.

-. Highlights of previous matches (with xod and xell).
-. Tables prior to match.
-. Results ticker.
-. More of a sports show setup (bring in the desk get rid of the couch).
-. screentest guests (make sure they add something other then jeah im a member of BoB and im sitting on the couch).
-. Match analasys with video.
-. Live Ventrilo/TS of teams.
-. Make participants appear offline in the game for others (this preventing gang/convo invite spams or have them set their CSPA to 500 million :o) ).
-. Betting info.
-. Statistics (total ships lost, types used, overal stats, stats per alliance).
Needless to say maybe but it would be awesome if EvETV would be a daily thing with a news rapport of EvE from within the game with footage and background stories on raging wars, events and other stuff giving a overview of what is happening in and around EvE.
Edit: and a ticket for this guy named DrAtomic to Iceland... :oP

I was very impressed with EVE TV's coverage the last time around, I can't wait to see what improvements you'll make this time around.
After each match it would be nice to have some kind of follow up with the winner/loser. Perhaps the EVE TV Broadcaster could submit a question to the team captain and get a quick reply that would be read on air.
These questions could range from the strategy used, to why a certain ship was chosen, to why something happened the way it did in the battle.

We are looking into options on how to best accomplish this. We wanted to do this last time, but our resources wouldn't allow for it.
This was one of my favorite things from the Xmas champs that was done by the FZN boys and Urban Mongral. Of course there are "issues" both on the technical and presentation side that we need to evaluate before we decide how best to implement this in either a live or pre-recorded capacity.

Might I suggest being as fanfest is just before the next championship, warp scrambling a few players and getting an interview out of them :) All you have to do to persuade them is offer a free bottle of beer (works for me anyway)! Maybe setup a room/corner at the nordica with crate of beer and camera 
On what to show, well with fanfest you get a bit more material, maybe some edited video of the ff events. perhaps some dev interviews where they talk about the present and future regarding the game and what they do (for eg, I wanna know whats TomB has been doing since he got promoted!)
Probably take some production, but random idea is a video tutorial/quick tip - using fraps + camera, get some pvp manoveres, these could be quick say 10-20sec runs.
I did have a crazy idea about having a 'crinkley bottom' goo tank and which ever commentator/expert was the most wrong about the outcome, gets slimed :p Another would be a 'quiz show' using FF attendants but all requires probably too much background work.

Just get every team to agree to interviews on ventrilo / teamspeak before and after matches.
I don't really see many people saying no ...

If you insist on keeping Stavros, can you at least hook him up to a machine that generate a strong electric shock every he makes a sexist comment or completely unfunny "joke"?
He really brought the whole thing down. Much more than Silent BoB, who I thought was kind of sweet.

Thanks Dr with all your feedback.
Firstly. There will be a desk studio setup, there will be a lot more tables and informational transitions aswell.
There are a few things I would love to have. Highlights as you mentioned being one of them. However we were a three man operational crew this last time round. Fly editing and getting it back through the mixer does take a few extra hands but I assure you we are trying to grow them :)
Ventrilo/TS would also be excellent to have, its something we love to work in however like guests we have to screen language and content and doing that live can run into a few problems.
But thank you it was a lovely reply to read and all of it will be grinding our gears

And here are my two cents for nex time improvements u can do the studio more interactive guys lets say quickly cut the last match into short scatch just the key moments in the victory or defeat one of the teams hen play it betwen the mathes and do qiuck analysis helpin you with electronic marker got this idea from our tv they doit with ice hockey matches

There are major technical and staffing implication to be considered in doing this. We just don't have the budget for the equipment to do this kind of thing on the fly. While I agree it would be nice, we have bounds that we must stay in unfortunately.
