Just got mission to take 2 f...ing miner1s to ally 8 jumps away. Nedless to say that collateral was higher than reward and it took more than f...ing 15 minutes to complete.
Comes back to agent just to get another take 2 miner1s to ally (this time only 7 jumps away).
The best part of it is that there is no reject mission option as a helpfull GM soul at help channel explained "its game mechanics".
Well i might not get MTV but i want my reject mission option so that i can make my way to f...ing BP and get hell out of mission business before next patch mission nerf.
I am sick and tired of f...ing waithing 1 hour for few times a f...ing day just to be able to get another mission.
When will you guys at CCP f...ing realize that we are not doing missions at our bases of operation and the whole god damn mission process is way to much f...ing boring and takes to much f...ing time.
I guess mineral mission will no longer give such big rewards for soem small amount of minerals provided (as that Dev said in other post) but more closely to what market prices for those minerals are.
I guess he forgot that we are already loosing money on comodity missions due to market griefers.
Perhaps he could change combat missions as well; why give reward to mission taker when they get paid bounties for those pirat threats eliminated.
That would make things great.
We would have trade mission that kill our wallets, mineral mission that pay you NPC price of minerals provided, and combat missions that pay those 1000 or 2000 ISK bounties.
On a bright note my mission journal is bugged. I can only open it once when i log on and to check mission details i have to relog which does not make me very happy camper.
If anyone had/have same issue with mission journal please let me know what have you done to get rid of this problem.

i had the journal problem some time ago...
i had the journal and mission description windows stacked into a single window. after i made 'em seperate again, it didn't happen anymore.

Let me just say I'm glad there isn't always a reject option. That would mean very little work to get to the bp. Just buy all ingredients and only do instas and rejections sounds bad to me.

It doesn't sound fast to me at all.
There is still 15 minutes timer between completed missions.
You see i am doing mission 67 jumps from my base of operation and i am very motivated to get it over as fast as i can.
Waiting around for an hour for offer to expire with nothing else to do is not my kind of fun.

Edited by: Zrakor on 23/10/2003 00:22:46 Nedless to say that collateral was higher than reward
The collateral being higher than the reward is a non-issue since you get it back when you complete the mission.
I guess he forgot that we are already loosing money on comodity missions due to market griefers.
The trade missions are rejectable, so you are not forced to take any of them. Declining a mission does not affect your chances of getting a bp, it only affects standing. We are also moving the trade missions to a black market service.
I am sick and tired of f...ing waithing 1 hour for few times a f...ing day just to be able to get another mission.
With the new system, this won't be such a problem. With access to a multitude of agents, flying to a nearby agent with a new mission is easy. No need to fly back to your original agent after completing a courrier mission either.
We would have trade mission that kill our wallets, mineral mission that pay you NPC price of minerals provided, and combat missions that pay those 1000 or 2000 ISK bounties.
Actually the pirates in the new level 3 missions usually give 30-50.000 ISK bounties + the mission reward, not to mention loot as well.
I can only open it once when i log on and to check mission details i have to relog which does not make me very happy camper.
This sounds like a UI bug, the only way to make sure it is fixed is by sending in a log file with any errors you get. There is more detailed information in the patch review forum.
Well i might not get MTV but i want my reject mission option so that i can make my way to f...ing BP and get hell out of mission business before next patch mission nerf.
The miner II original bp mission will still be in the next patch. I don't see why you are forced to do missions if you don't like them, just buy the miner IIs off the market, they are bound to be available sooner or later with the amount of miner II bps seeping into the system.

I would prefer a 'beat agent with baseball bat' option. Agent missions are painful to me, and I just want to show my appreciation to my agent for making me suffer.

Just clik on "talk to my agent" but do not respond. Next mission description is already in your journal at "offered". Thus i've never done that kind of mission since i never accepted it :) . Just waited 15 minutes to get another one.

If i do that, i have to wait 1h to get a new mission. :(

Gave up agent missions after my second mission.
Far too boring. And it seemed that you have to do many, many missions before the rewards get anywhere near that of other activities (apart from the Miner 2s of course).
Even as the dev said best way to get somethng for sure is to buy it.
Now this is all a shame because the missions really could be one of the most fascinating parts of the game with complex story lines, multi-participant missions, unique mission only items to be won for particularly long, arduous and dangerous missions to unusual and interesting places.
As they are doing the laundry is more interesting. Zulu Alpha Vortex Inc |

Yup, I gave up on agents after doing 20+ missions without a failure or rejected mission and got referred to my 15th level one agent. I am not sure what it takes to get a level two or higher, but I decided I could do way better mining veldspar in a Reaper with one basic mining laser.
I am not sure what it would take to get me doing missions again, but it would have to be significant.

Like I said, the chief problem with agent missions is that unless you actually receive an extremely valuable BP or lots of implants, agent missions simply are a waste of time.
Let's say that it takes (just throwing a figure here) 200 missions to reach a level 3 agent and get offered an implant, which you can sell for, say, 10 million. Also say that you are completing missions at a rate of 10 per hour for the L1 agent and L2 agent, and it takes you about 100 missions to get one L3 agent. That's 10 hours so far. Assume that in the next 100 missions, which you can do at best 4 times an hour, take 25 hours to do. That's 35 hours of play. Let's say you get $25 million worth of implants in that time. In 35 hours, mining in complete safety in a 0.9 sec system, a person cruiser mining can easily exceed that amount mining plag or scordite, afford to buy the implants, and still be millions ahead of the game. If they mine something even more valuable it's not even worth considering the difference.
Agent missions became popular when implants first came out because every implant was selling for 25-30 million apiece. Prices have dropped, so it's no longer economically worthwhile to do agent missions unless you get an extremely valuable BP. As far as I can tell the only really valuable BPs to get from agents are high end ship BPs and rare or tech 2 BPs. Other than that it's much, much mroe profitable to do something else.
When agent missions consistently provide a level of income at least in the ball park with mining or rat farming, people will typically be better off doing something else. I hope agent mission rewards get significantly better than they are now.

You forgot the isk-rewards of the agents. I often got from my lvl3-agent (awesome) 180k (with time-bonus) for some jumps. You mine in a group in a 0.9-system. Let this group make mission in the same time with good lvl3-agents. And think, the agent-system is on the beginning. More intresting und unique stuff will come and introduced with the agents. You standing with factions and corps will advance.

A more realistic set of options with regards to agent interaction would be very nice.
The option to tell the agent exactly how little u care for his n00b mission. again my suggestion is a new gunnery skill "Office Targeting(12)" 10 % chance pr level to succesfully hit an agents office with a tachyon beam
Or the option to ask the agent for a better mission if u have good ppl skillz AND the guy likes u.
More social skills. Lean on, work over, unrefusable offers, heavy italian accent, bureau|cracy, charm etc etc
and a Yard-Arm for my flagship for those really really irritating agents

"Heavy Italian Accent"
Maybe I shouldn't suggest this crazy-maker, but, with all the anger directed toward agents, maybe every 5000th' mission would be to -transplant- (VIP item) an agent from one corporate office to another, to 'lay low' from angry mission goers.
I can just imagine, opening up your agents tab in the address book and finding one of your agents has 'skipped constellation'.

And when are the players going to realize that the Agents aren't there to 'just hand you over cool items'?
Granted, it's not clear which direction CCP wants the Agents to take, but I am quite sure that they are not there so that people can get some loot they need and then ignore their Agents until they need some loot again.
Me, I definitely see a pattern evolving in what type of Agents I get referral to from the one I am working at... Gonne keep pestering her till she directs me to a lvl.3 one. But after that it is my intention to work on those other Agents she got me.

Actually if you have an "Awesome" rated agent you can easily compete with a miner or even exceed their profits. In fact I started my miner at 850k and my agent acct at about 300k so that one account was mining scord while i was running agent missions. I have now exceeded the amount of money my miner is brining in just by doing missions... and that is with just leaving the mission account sometimes to wait to release a new missions. Some missions give you 180k real fast and then u just wait 15minutes for another 100k+ if not more. It all depends on skill, what you decide to accept/decline/wait out, and other such factors as to which is better. In the process I'm also getting implants that I could sell for 8-10m a piece so I could way overshoot my miner in that respect. "I can only take so much before I'll blow up my own ship. Hey isn't that what insurance is for?"
