Again, I like anime but 98% of American's don't really understand it at all. The overall reputation of Anime in the US probably isn't helped by the Japanese love for ecchi; put that together with the US impression that "cartoons are for kids" and it can come accross pretty perverted at times (and make no mistake, some of the most perverted entertainment on the planet DOES take the form of anime). Back to the subject, can anyone explain HOW an EVE ship can remind you of an anime character? Can you show a particular example? curious

Just have some pretty anime style girls posing infront of, next to, ontop of (whatever) EvE ships. You know, how they do with cars: Kinda like this Draw up the ship (not sure just taking a screenshot and drawing a girl ontop of it will look as good), some cool background... give it your own touch ya know. And I can follow the Rattlesnake - Nyuu (shouldn't that be Lucy?) one. Some of the others seem quite... far-fetched, though? At least I don't see the connection. The fun part about moe-anthro is not to capture only the looks. That'd make the spaceship -> girl transition, or for that matter, the OS -> girl transition rather difficult. You can't exactly make a girl look like an OS, or Spaceship. The thing is to capture the quirks and personality of whatever you're trying to athropomorphise, and make the girl/boy/whatever only somewhat resemble the actual object. (By color scheme, patterns on clothes, or whatever.) Let's take XP-tan as example. She's depicted as rather well endowed and good looking, which is supposed to depict the 'fancyness' of the default XP theme. At the same time, her rack, plus her being depicted as almost always hungry, are indicators for the OS' very large need for RAM in comparison to other OS' back when XP was all new. Just as ME has a small '!' on her dress, and is depicted as always tripping over something, passing out, dozing off, or staring off somewhere with a blank expression on her face. Norton Antivirus is depicted as a perverted old half-bald geezer who tries to get peeks on what's under the OS' skirts. --- As a more concrete example of Vina's (Kayosoni's alt?) associations of EVE ships with existing characters: Nanoha kind of fits the Harpy, because she is somewhat of a nimble long-range spellcaster, while the Harpy is an assault frig with rails. Ayumi is kind of the personified essence of 'Gank with good tank', and hence fits the Zealot. Lucy is just vile, and hence might be a rather good match for the Rattlesnake. List goes on. The problem is that EVE ships don't have that many 'weird quirks' you can incorporate into their anthro design. At least not many that are visible right away. ________ Capitalization is the difference between "I helped my uncle Jack off his horse." and "I helped my uncle jack off his horse." Help the horses, make proper use of that shift button.

I have to admit that CCP has done a terrific job in the Name vs Role department. Eg with the Interdictors : Eris : the ID bubbles it launches are a double-edge sword (plus the many bugs they have ) and so are pretty chaotic Flycatcher : need I say more ? Heretic : Clearly not a "tank and gank" boat of the Amarr, but a tool for battles Sabre : now this is a tricky one . I present: RAVEN I tried to include as many ship details as I could, but it's tough going... I got the colour scheme, antenna, bridge and hopefully some caldari attitude in there, however Im not very happy with the woman herself, I think she needs to be stronger looking. Anyway I hope someone out there appreciates it haha.
