So after realizing early on that "cool" ships mean nothing with out skills...like the first moment you where actually skilled enough to fly a BS (POP!)...anyway, I'm on my second Navy Issue raven, is there anything besides the obvious goodies I should know? I dont think I've ever seen posts specific to them. By obvious goodies I mean the boost on stock attributes of the actual ship. For example, I am well aware of the 7th launcher! Is the boat just that, just a little better here and there than a basic raven, or does it serve a niche purpose I am unaware of, besides "wow, how much was that?" Ok then, thanks for your time. Oh and my fittings are successful, but almost run of the mill, whereas it's not currently set up for a specific role. So all the pvper's might wig out at the setup, and I welcome ideas from pvp to npc blah blah blah, like I said, it's currently a plain jane> Thanks!
High -7x's xt-9000 cruise, 1 Heavy Dim Nos Medium -1xGisti sheild, 1xGisti booster, 1x T2IF,2x T2Cap chargers 1x T2 Lg. Extender Low 5xT2 PDU or 3xT2 PDU,1x Panda,1x ar.rep Thanks!

I wish I had your ISK, but oh well. No, I don't think you're missing anything, the Navy Raven is just that: a Raven with a 7th launcher hardpoint, some more hitpoints across the board, and some more CPU to accomodate for the extra launcher. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

Yeah, it cost you 1.4 bill + fittings precisely because it's rare (because it's hard to obtain) and pretty, and just plain better than a standard Raven. I guess if you have that much money to spend, you might be more amused flying a Rattlesnake, but personally I like the Navy Raven better because of the extra damage. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

How about some fantastic raven setups then? Applied to a Navy raven is just a bonus then... |

There's no Raven setup in the sticky setup topic that won't work on a Navy Raven, just add a 7th launcher and you're good to go. Might have to play around with the setup if you find yourself short on CPU but it shouldn't take much effort. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

If only i could understand that setup.... and i guess that precision cruise pic is old :) I don't understand the need for cap injector, i finish most missions without turning booster on at all.

What kind of ROF do you have ?, thats the key to a good raven I guess. On a CNR you have a massive advantage straight away.
I think you should be fitting 3 BCU II in lows as with a Gist tank you are not going to notice massive benefits with all those PDU.
With 3 BCU, maxed skills and a 3% implant I get 6.74s ROF, now to get that firepower on a normal raven needs 5.78s... to get that your going to need very expensive launchers. (thons cruise look nice but 700m isk each)
I think your mids would be better with the Gist amp / booster, then 3-4 hardeners and a cap recharger if room.....
As far as PVP, well I just wouldn't. I've lost a CNR and Rattlesnake and it hurts big style (unless of couse your rich beyond belief)

hey tiller, can you explain the benefit of the BDU's which have a penalty for multiples vs. the pdu's i run? In my mind the total advantage of my shield increase, cap recharge increase and the other functions of the pdu weigh in better than the bdu's. Now, I have not used the multiplying tool to figure out my damage increase, less penalty to see if the dmg multiplyer will just crush the benenifits of having the entire system functioning at higher levels as with the pdu's, so dmg dealing is the point so maybe it would be better. ? ty |

With you current setup whats your launcher ROF ? (goto show info on fitted launcher in ship fitting)
Lose the armour rep though because whatever your doing, with a Gisti tank if you can't sustain your shield you should be warping away (most likely with no cap) and a arm rep aint gonna help ya.
Like the other guys said here, check out the raven setup threads on forums...

It's a shame, but it's true. Since the Raven has very little choice in terms of set up, then so does the CNR. Launchers, tank and ballistic controls. In general, on both the CNR and the regular Raven, you're left with a single midslot and a choice of items to put in it (painter/webber/scrambler/sensor booster).
It sucks to be honest, and it'e because there's so little choice associated with missiles...there's only ONE module to boost their damage (BCS) and the actual choice of launchers comes down to two - cruise or siege.
Turrets have more variation in terms of the actual weapon and the associated modules. I'm not asking for any new modules for missiles to make them BETTER...I'm just asking for some more CHOICE.
Sorry, this didn't start out as a Raven/missile whine thread...Here's the setup I use for L4 missions;
7 x Cruise Launcher II 1 x Heavy Diminishing Nos
1 x Gist 100MN AB 1 x Cal Navy Shield Boost Amp 1 x Sensor Booster II 2 x Hardeners (switched for each mission) 1 x Gist X-type XL shield booster
3 x Cal Navy Ballistic Controls 1 x Power Diagnostic System II 1 x Pseudoelectron Containment field
Options: On easy missions I sometimes switch the Nos for a tractor beam! Helps with the looting! If I gang up with team mates I normally drop all the shield stuff and fit target painters...our CEO normally makes sure he is first target, so I don't have to worry about tanking any damage. The sensor booster really only makes sense if you use cruise...for torps you'd be better with a target painter. --- Monty Pythons spoof of the EVE Forums; Palin: "Is this the right room for an argument?"
