Apparently included in the patch were lower drops in drone regions and, due to higher spawn rates, more difficult to harvest. Previousy I did a small audit of the returns on drone regions and they were unimpressive. If they are even less I would expect a rise in both minerals and finished products over time. And a degree of goods side inflation. Anybody in that market have any thoughts? I do some light industry but it is not my primary interest.
90% of of the time my posts are about something I actually find interesting and want to learn more about. Do not be alarmed. |

Worse drops could be a statistical anomaly. After just about every patch there's a post from someone who thinks their loot got stealth-nerfed, often it turns out not to be correct.
Higher spawn rates should lead to higher yield once the people farming the Drone Regions adapt. I gather that botting is a significant amount of the activity there so botting yields will likely fall off during a period where the botters are re-writing their programs to cope with the harder difficulty. Once they have programs to cope then they will be doing better than ever unless CCP manage to restrict them. |

The introduction of the T2 mining ganglinks will also increase the supply of minerals (and ice) into the market- the t2 variant is 25% more effective than the T1 ganglinks, meaning serious miners will get a decent boost to mining output. |

The gang link that affects yield per hour is the Laser Optimization link. The T1 is -2%, the T2 is -2.5%. Question is how many orca pilots actually have Mining Director V.
The T1 range link gives 4.5%, the T2 gives 5% (a measly 11% increase). Which is rather poor for a T2 variant, consider that the others are all giving 20-25% bonuses. |

It's pretty safe to assume that most larger corps and alliances have dedicated boosters with Mining Director 5 (i personally have one with MD 5, WfL 5)- it's a nice and greatly welcomed boost to mining output. The range boost is more of a convenience factor and doesn't greatly affect mining output*.
*Note: yes, you might have to move one or two extra times. When you can mine an entire Large Hidden Belt from two spots, the range factor is mainly in place to counter laziness :) |
