NOTE: This is a long post; make sure you read all the first few replies as I couldn't fit it all in one shot.
Ladies & Gentlemen,
I am proud to announce the first NtV (Noob to Vet) Lottery. Inspired by the excellent lotteries already in place, I decided to put my own spin on the idea. Hence, the Noob to Vet lottery, where everyone can play, not just the big boys.
In a nushell: Each week I will give away one Amarr (non-Amarr players, scroll down to "Buy Back" to see why this lottery might still interest you) Tech 1 ship from each of the following classes: Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, Battlecruiser, Battleship and Industrial. In addition, each week, one Special Item (usually a Tech 2 ship) will be up for grabs. There are 40 "tickets" available for each class and the Special Item, with different costs for each class (so naturally, a ticket for the battleship prize costs more than one for the frigate). Upon buying a ticket, you can select a number if you so wish or just let me assign you one if you don't. You can buy as many tickets as you wish. Then, each week, I will use Random.Org to generate a winning number (using the random integers generator) for each of the prizes and send an Eve-mail to the lucky winners as well as post the results here. The ships will be escrowed in the perfect safety of Amarr VIII (Oris) - Emperor Family Academy, for pickup at the convenience of their new owner.
Buy Back: I am well aware that some of the Amarr ships are not well liked. Thus, at your request, I will buy back the ship from you (for next week's lottery) at the price I paid for it, which I will indicate each week. Non-Amarr players, you now see why this lottery might still be interesting for you (if you win, simply ask and you get the ISK instead of the ship).
Why this isn't a scam: This:
As you can see:
-This is not an alt or a trial account
-I actually HAVE the ships, which ARE at Amarr
-I have plenty of money already, so it's not like I actually NEED to do this
How to enter: Post a message in this thread with the following information:
-Name of the character entering the draw (in case you have an Amarr character not as your main; this is the name I will make the escrow out to if you win).
-The class draws you wish to enter.
-The numbers you want for each class (check that they are available first) or just the number of tickets if you don't care which numbers you get.
-The total amount due for the tickets.
Example:
-Name: Deschenus Maximus
-Classes: Cruiser, Special
-Numbers:
For Cruiser: 1, 15
For Special: 38
-Amound total: 5M isk
Once this is done, I will send you an Eve-mail giving you the go-ahead for the fund transfer (do NOT send me the money before you recieve this). Once I recieve the funds, I will send you another Eve-mail confirming that you are officially in the draw and will update the post to reflect this. WARNING: Do NOT Eve-mail me or convo me in-game; it's not that I don't want to help with questions, but take a moment to think: there are seven draws with FORTY spots in each (7 x 40 = 280), so if I start recieving tens (if not hundreds!) of Eve-mails and/or convos, I will simply go nuts trying to answer them all. If you have a question, post it HERE; I read the forums religiously, so chances are that I will be able to answer your concerns very quickly, if not nearly instantly. |

What happens if not all the tickets for a draw are sold: One of two things:
-If there have been enough tickets sold to cover the buy-back value, I will simply go-ahead with the draw. I am doing this mainly for fun, so as long as I don't start losing money doing this, I'm cool.
-If there hasn't been enough tickets sold to cover the buy-back value, you will have to decide wether you want your ISK back or you want to keep your numbers for next week. Simply post in the thread with your decision, and I will give form to your wishes as promptly as I can. If you do not post your decision, I will assume that you want to keep your numbers for next week's draw.
Why only Amarr ships: The reason is simple enough: I can't fly anything else, thus can't bring anything else to Amarr. However, if I spot some good deals in-station, you may see some of the other races' ships from time to time. Also, I DO intend to learn to fly some of them eventually, so in time, more and more ships will be available instead of buy-backs.
The numbers will be drawn next friday, the 29th of September, 2006, and every friday after that (you'll have the weekend to play with your new toy).

Im confused, but I want to be part of this.
Lets say I want to go for the Prophecy. What do I do? I dont see exactly how much money the ticket or ticket numbers to buy/are, etc. sorry just need a little more explanation.

No worries Darth. The prices for the tickets are written at the top of each reaply I made to my own post that state people's number. So for the Prophecy, it goes like this:
"-Battlecruiser: Prophecy
Buy-back: 24,100,000.00 ISK
Ticket cost: 750,000.00 ISK
1: Anarine
2: Anarine
3: Bellatrix VanFeldt
4:
5:
6:
7:
etc."
So one ticket for the Prophecy costs 750K isk. To enter, all you have to do is leave a post here with the following information (check some of the other participants' post, they got it right):
-Name of the character entering the draw (in case you have an Amarr character not as your main; this is the name I will make the escrow out to if you win).
-The class draws you wish to enter.
-The numbers you want for each class (check that they are available first) or just the number of tickets if you don't care which numbers you get.
-The total amount due for the tickets.
So say you want 2 tickets for the Prophecy, your post would be:
-Name: Darth Sion (assuming this is the character you want me to make the escrow out to)
-Classes: Battlecruiser
-Numbers: 15, 25
-Total amount: 1,500,000.00 isk (1,5M isk)
Hope that clears it up. I will edit the main post so people know where to look for the ticket prices (thanks for pointing that out). If you have any further questions, I am at your disposal.

Also, I have been able to acquire some tier 3 frigates for each of the races, and am trying to get some destroyers and cruisers as well. Stay tuned!
