This isnt a request for help (for a change!) but a huge thank you to everyone who has assisted me in my endless questions, but here and in the game itself.
Despite what many people say, there is a hugely helpful bunch of people around. Since I started a few days ago I have received:
1. +3 implants from someone who helped me with my questions ingame
2. Garmur Frigates from someone who gave them out
3. And most importantly, a brand new character today with 3 million skillpoints.
One of the people was a self confessed Corp Thief & a Pirate, yet he went out of his way to help me get a proper start that most people simply does not get.
I promised not to name any names, but thank you! And to everyone else who has contributed with advice, tips and knowledge. |

I'm pretty sure a lot of the posters in NCQ&A fit that bill. After all:
more players = more content!
better players = Better Content!

i will second the OP, I have just started..and Ive honestly only met great people so far. I'm sure ill run into the not so nice in the future but hey..that's when i get to start to shoot things :P so. big shout out to all you helpful people as well from me. Its appreciated! |

No, you've got it all backwards. Do your killing now, when you've got nothing to lose. Aim for "grown up" targets because their ships are worth more and your victories will be sweeter.
Age and skillpoints should increase your tendency to be a carebear afraid of undocking... until one day you're a Titan pilot and you can't even log in without having friends check the system first. |

True, True, I did apply for a corp the other night for null sec. So hopefully get in on that pvp action soon enough ;)
Tried mining already and know that i never..-ever- want to do that again. |

I've seen first hand many cases where people had difficulties and gave up playing. I personally love scouring through the newb forums to find people to help. If you're asking for nothing more than a bit of my time so that I may explain something, I will do my best to help. It's a pleasure helping new people. However, do not let my kindness mislead you! If I saw you in 0.0 I would still blap you. ;)

I think this the key.
Most of us want more players (or marks/prey), so we try to help out, for a while.
Scamming and/or 'sploding a n00b isn't very fun, unless it's either for an educational reason (which normally is followed by a lecture and a refund) or due the n00b in question acting like an annoying toddler.
CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.
