I am writing this post to relate a little story that happen to my small corp over the last few days and for everyone to have a good laugh and see what everyone thoughts and ideas are on this issue.
My small corp moved to Saila back in June to take advantage of lvl 4 agent there and for the miners to use Arimachi as a place to mine for us. Shortly after moving there we noticed 2 characters that always seemed to be blocking the undocking ramp of the station whenever one of us tried to undock. This annoyance peaked our curiosity and we started to watch these 2 characters in their mining barges whenever we had some time between missions or just bored and we started to see a pattern to their movements. A very disturbing pattern.
Picture this, character logs in immediately after downtime is over, undocks, warps to a random belt, mines for a set amount of time, instadocks back to station, docks, undocks, warps to random belt, mines again for specific amount of time, instadocks back to station, docks, undocks and off again. Over, over and over again 23 hours a day 7 days a week, never ending.
Two nights ago a few of my corp was online and after a venture into low sec being bored and returning to Saila, we were all looking for something to do besides missions. Members of my corp have had lousy summer in real life and small annoyances have had a way of building up. When I attempted to undock after returning to Saila, once again I get jammed in the undock due to one of these characters undocking and immediately entering warp without first clearing the undocking zone with their hulk exhumer.
After a quick discussion with 3 other corp mates we decide to raise some hell in which we loaded up some suicide caracals. We used ships we already had in storage and modules we have all contributed to corp to outfit them so basically the expedition cost us ZERO.
We went hunting and found one of the hulks in a belt. We locked it up, and on command over teamspeak we opened fire. When the smoke cleared we were all in pods, with several dozen concord ships floating in space around us. As for the hulk, all of itÆs shields and armor was gone, and half itÆs hull and it was on fire, still sitting there mining away without a care in the world. Another corp mate flew out and retrieved our cans and kept an eye on the hulk while we returned to the station to rearm and wait out our global criminal flags. While we were waiting we get told the hulk had left the belt and warped away. Within seconds the character in the hulk docked at the station and immediately undocked. Another corp mate outside the station locked it up and informed us the hulk had NOT repaired except for shields which regenerated when it docked. Our corp mate then followed the hulk to another belt where it began mining again. We rushed to equip and the minute our global flags were gone we undocked and headed that way. Soon as we were assembled in the belt we all locked the hulk again, and moved in. I should note here that the hulk had ample time to warp away at this point but it continued to mine as if no one was ôsupervisingö the character. Once we were in range we opened fire again on command. When the smoke (read lag) cleared, the hulk pilot was in a pod. Then again, so were we with dozens and I mean dozens of concord floating nearby.

This should be the end of the story, but it isnÆt. Our scout/can retrieving corp member warps into the belt and begins retrieving our cans while we all warp back to station in our pods. We are soon informed that the character is still in the same belt, not moving, in a pod. Our scout sat there and watched the pod for 10 minutes before it warped away, and we watched it dock in the station. Now, my logic states that when your in a pod and dock, you donÆt immediately undock while still in a pod and warp away to yet another belt to sit there within range for mining for 20 minutes, instadock back to the station, dock and undock again and warp away to yet another belt, in a pod. I took out an interceptor another corp member took an omen and we proceeded to watch this character do this rinse and repeat 5 times without ever stopping to get another ship. My corp mate then gets frustrated and petitions the character for macro mining under exploit petition in game and soon receives the ôwe will investigateö response. He explained exactly what was going on and how to catch this person.
Yesterday after downtime, this character is no where to be found. I cannot repeat the comments word for word on these forums but the general comments from corp members was ôWow..CCP does care and banned the macrominerö We were happy, we cost this character million. When all totals were in we estimate cost to that character was around 429 million isk. We were also happy that we managed to have a macrominer banned and gave something back to the game.
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After taking a day off, and most of today too, the character is back, and doing the identical rinse repeat warp mine, dock, undock dance it has done for MONTHS.
I hope you all enjoyed this little story and especially laughed at our foolishness for thinking we actually did something right. But I have one question, what else can we do when the people with the power wonÆt take action when the evidence is thrown in front of them?

If you can just keep blowing him up as much as you can. You probably got a few strip miners from the deal, and if your caracels are fully insured, you won't lose much. Just bring another one or two to finish him off the 1st time. :P

Yes, its in the EVE Tribune.
I'm the one who put it in the Tribune, I write for them as Faolan.
Every last word here is true.
I honestly have to say, my hopes were buoyed when she wasn't on yesterday, but today, she's back. I was sincerely hoping CCP would do something about the plethora of macro-miners we have to deal with up there, but maybe the lure of $15 a month is too much for them.

Why don't we make an anti macro miner organization?
I am not talking about a corp. But about a forum or something.
Once a macro miner is spotted somewhere, a report is written, and players in his area would gather with cheap (insured) ships and unnamed mods and destroy it. (No need for powerful weapons as long as there are many pilots.)
I know I would get out of my way to help. The extra bonus/motivation is that hunting macro miners would be a nice break from the usual mission running/etc.

I swear, all they need to add is a nuke to the game, and if you get within 500 m you can shove it up their tailpipe and run away. if they don't click the "someone has set you up the bomb" message to use nanobots to defuse it, it blows you up with one charge. That'll teach AFK players!

Everything you have read above is absolutely true, I was there, and let me tell you it was a real joy, cost me .3 to my sec rating, but who cares, cost that macrominer more. I can not begin to tell you how ****ed off it makes me to see people making millions off an illegal act when I have spent months to make what they make in a couple days just because I make my way honestly. There are still many more macrominers out there, and if you find one in your system, get a group together and do the same thing, perhaps eventually they will take a hint. Laters

CCP should release an item that can be used on anyone mining that will destroy their ship in 10 minutes if they don't enter a code (answer a CAPTCHA).
A briefcase nuke, maybe?

Huh?
When you dock in a pod and there are no other ships in the station, you get a free Ibis... which you don't enter unless you tell it to. If there are other ships, you get nothing and just stay in your pod.

Maybe the pod is just too small to see for you? I can dock and undock in a pod...

When you are podded you appear in a station without a pod. And cannot undock until you enter another ship.
But if you are in a pod when you dock at a station you're pod will be there. And you can undock at will in your pod. ___________________

Just to clarify a bit, we did not pod the macrominer, we just blew up her half billion isk Hulk, so therefore when her macro took her pod back she was able to undock in it, only if you are podded does it make you get into another ship. Laters

Why should CCP care? They pay their accounts just like you and me so there is no reason to go after a paying customer.
