Hello there, I have recently trained for ceptors and got myslef a claw. I wanted to make a set up that MWDed(3200-3400 m/s) around the target at about 15-20 km. This way I stay outside of webber range and I can out run drones(ussualy). There is one problem. I can't hit ANYTHING. Sense I just started training for interecptors my ceptor rank is 3 ATM(training to 4 now) and my motion prediction is 3. I'm using T2 250mm light artillery cannons with tremor ammo.
I'm just wondering what I am doing wrong? Do I need to use a different type of ammo? or will ceptor rank 4 and motion prediction rank 4 be enough to hit most things? Or will this setup not work and I need to use a close range setup?(I've seen this setup posted on the claw RMR thread and it seems to work, although they don't go into alot of details about how they attack or what ammo they use.)

Tremor has a 0.25x penalty, which means your tracking drops to a quarter which is the major issue. Your skills do need improving but switching to T1 ammo should give you a significant improvement.
You will possibly still have some issues as artillary does have the worst tracking or all the long range guns, but t1 ammo and improved skills should give you decent results (don't worry, as spike isn't very good on a rail ranis, nor is aurora on a crusader with beams).

The only ceptor that can do what you want is the crow with missiles. All the other ceptors are gunships and will suffer from tracking.
At best the claw with 250's will be able to track transversal speeds of 2114 m/s with motion prediction 5 and inteceptor 5 at the 15km range with no tremor s loaded. Load that and you're down to 528 m/s.

Claw sucks...
You can't track orbiting within 20km, so you say maybe I'll just buy a faction disruptor and orbit further out. Then you realize that the claw has a base lock range of 18km. So you say oh, I'll just fit ACs and go close range. Then you realize that the claw only has 2 mids and you can't fit a scram and a web.

Well, I did find out what is good with this and that is hitting bigger targets like BCs and BSs. Guess i'll just use it for NPCer ganking with the corp
