This hasn't actually happened to me. But i've heard a lot of horror stories. And I may have to mine some time again in the future, I don't want this to happen to me.
Your out there mining on your own. You jettison the ore, and then keep adding ore to that container. You take the risk of somebody rolling up and stealing your ore, but you do it because that jettisoned container will allow much more ore to be stored in it. This is your choice to take this chance.
People are having problems here. Once they fill this container up to their desired amount. They will then go dock with the station to switch to their industrial ship, so they can go pick up the stock pile of ore they have made.
But when they get back to the jettisoned container, it's telling them they can't take the ore out??
What's up with this? Will it be fixed soon?
This is not a discussion on the importance of using secure containers. Secure containers suck. I would rather take my chances with jettisoned containers that are unsecured.
But I don't think it's right that you can not take the ore back out once you have put it in.

Let me get this straight, you have never seen any evidence of the problem occurring yourself. You have heard rumors of it occurring.
So you are now complaining about a non-proven problem and wanted to know when it will be fixed?
WouldnĘt it make sense to verify the rumor or information yourself before raising your voice asking for a correction and stating your dissatisfaction of the situation?

What I have seen since the last patch is that when loading ore into a secure container within my cargo hold I can not see anything inside the secure container until I go back to a station and reopen it. Kind of a hassle because this means I am unable to transfer anything from this can while still in space.

seanb - As far as I know theres a problem with scooping REGULAR containers. If your going to mine, use a SECURE container. They can be scooped, locked, etc..but you will need the anchoring skill. Hope this helps you.

Edited by: Pojo on 24/10/2003 22:24:11 I have had a problem with regular cans. You mine some ore jettison it then you cant open the can anymore. Someone else has to come by move the ore into a new container then you can get it again. This really becomes a problem if u just strip minig with friends. Using secure cans is annoying at best during such ops.
I am pretty sure this bug is there on purpose to prevent people from strip miming on their own.
