I hope I can get CCP attention regarding my proposal of a new FW Complex Capturing LP Reward System.
It is evident that equally distributing the LP Reward to all Pilots that where involved in capturing or securing a complex in FW is totally unjust. I came up with a solution, it may not be the best, but it is for sure a way better than the current system, and in my opinion it won't have a considerable load on CCP's servers to implement.
Please take your time to look into my proposal:
Let's suppose that several pilots contributed in "o-plexing" the Novice in a given enemy solar system. Let's say that their faction is at Tier 2, which means they will get 10,000LP after they capture the complex for a duration of 10 min.
Pilot 1 spent the whole 10 min duration inside the complex (And was inside the radius 30km at the moment of capture). Pilot 2 spent 5 min inside the complex but then he left before capturing it. Pilot 3 came in while the timer was at 04:00 and stayed till the capture of the complex (And was inside the radius 30km at the moment of capture). Pilot 4 spent the whole 10 min duration inside the complex (But outside the radius of 30km at the moment of capture). Pilot 5 came in while the timer was at 01:00 and stayed till the capture of the complex (And was inside the radius 30km at the moment of capture).
The LP reward should be distributed as follows: Ri = ri * ++
With: ri = [ (ti * u) / T ] * ( CR / n )
And: ++ = CR / [ +ú ri ] for i=1 -> i=n
Where: R = Complex capturing reward for a given player t = Pilot duration spent in the complex T = Total time required to capture the complex CR = Complex capturing total reward n = Number of players that contribute to the capture of the complex u = Equals 1 in case the pilot was inside the 30km radius and 0 if not r = Unadjusted pilot reward from a given complex ++ = I will call it Edgar Erata coefficient (Complex capturing reward corrector coefficient)
In our case we have:
We have: t1 = 10 min t2 = 5 min t3 = 4 min t4 = 10 min t5 = 1 min T = 10 min CR = 10,000 LP n = 5
Therefore:
r1 = 2,000 r2 = 0 r3 = 800 r4 = 0 r5 = 200
=> ++ = 3.333
We get:
R1 = 6,667 LP R2 = 0 LP R3 = 2,667 LP R4 = 0 LP R5 = 667 LP
The above results obviously gives every pilot what he deserves and a fair portion from the complex capture total reward. Remember that in the current complex capture mechanics, in the case state above, every player get an equal share of 3,334 LPs.
I made an Excel sheet for you pilots who don't like to use the calculator or would like to try different combinations: For the Excel Sheet please press here to download
Note that, for the sole purpose of not overloading the servers, any pilot who leaves a complex then come back to it, I propose the reset of his "t" to 0 and start counting again for him/her.
Regards,
Edgar

so now my fleet mates who spent time watching gates or hunting gals in systems and actively defending the system get less LP than me who just sat there running the timer? yeah sounds fair

1- We all know that watching gates is most of the time done via a neutral alt.
2- The pilots actively defending a system get various types of rewards, for instance the loot, the kill log, etc. In any case, while attacking or defending a system, it's never like "you guyz stay there", "you guyz hunt here", it's a way more flexible than that.
In any case you sound like you gonna convince me, that if you wasted 19 min and 50 sec in a Large complex, and a random militia member warped in and got half of the reward, that's fair? |

Pilot A1 orbits the point 9 mins. At this stage Pilot B1 enters and blows up + pods A1 with the timer at 9 min 59s. Pilot A2 warps in, kills B1, completes the last second of the timer and claims all of the reward with A1 getting nothing as he was in a fresh clone.
Stupid idea. |

That's what happens in the current system also.
Anyway, you think I didn't thought of that point? If you read again my proposal, in the last point I mentioned: "for the sole purpose of not overloading the servers, etc.", that means CCP will never log your "timer" history when you leave a complex (willingly, in a pod, or just podded and reborn elsewhere) because that will add a huge amount of load to their servers. Based on that, I proposed a "computationally" simple fix to some major unfairness in the current reward system.

I dont want fairness (although your system is unfair). I want an effective way to cooperate or to make conflict. Hardcore!
=> Suggestion: Give only the Pilot with the most Time in a Plex the Rewards. Also: Have three additional options for a fleet. (similar to the binary free move option) (+checkbox please) 1. Share all LP and Standing rewards. 2. Kick afk players from fleet after X minutes. 3. show all members on killmails. ---> Promotes Teamplay. ("we all do different plexes in same constellation/system and when something happens we all come to help"+scouting) Leaves FF to be a viable option, encourages that feature even more. ("share with me or you might die to my guns!") |
