This is probably a stupid question but since I've never really given it any thought before (mainly because WCS are filthy, dishonest, and disreputable modules) does having say a +2 warp strength that negates a single targeted warp core scrambler also re-enable the use of MWD? |

if you are scrambled, you can't use your MWD.
if you are pointed, you can still use your MWD.
Scrambling shutting off the MWD is an effect of the module, independent from warp core strength, and therefore, no number of WCS will let you use it while scrammed. That doesn't however stop you from warping off if you have more core strength than they have points |

Not entirely true.
I was moving my Apoc from point a to b and in dangerous space a vigilant came to say hello, put his scram on and I warped away into to deep of the unknown.
I had 7 stabs on. So that proves that you can still mjd, mwd if you have enough stabs on.
But in all honesty, until two days ago I didn't know that either

I've shut down the MWD of plenty of stabbed ventures, only to have them slip into warp when they finally tab back into the game from whatever they were doing.
I have no experience with MJD because I never use those |

For the record, MWDs suck if you can MJD.

Trey was right the first time. The MJD and MWD disabling properties of a Warp Scrambler are calculated separately from warp strength. Your Apocalypse got away because 7 stabs will let you warp away from a single scram, but if you had an MJD or MWD fitted they wouldn't have worked.
While we're getting into the intricacies of tackle mechanics, a Heavy Interdictor's focused point overpowers any number of stabs, but still doesn't turn off MJDs or MWDs. |

Thanks guys. I did some testing on this while on Sisi to confirm (because I don't trust any of you). WCS have no effect on MWD or MJD. Also what Voyager Arran said about the warp disruption field generator is correct. It doesn't stop MWD or MJD whether you are using the focussed script or not. |

Then he had a long point on you. Not a scram. The difference is qualitative not quantitative. |

Why on Earth would a vigilant want a long-point on his boat?
You do know how the vigilant works, right?
Maybe you should investigate on your own too. Fit a balltecruiser / battleship with an mwd / mjd and all the lows with stabs.
Let a buddy point and scram you and you start activating the mods - see what happens.

Also for the record, MJD is about the easiest thing in the world to counter for an inty OH 6+ km/s. Soon as you see the spool up start burning 100km in the direction he's pointing. You'll be there by the time or shortly after he jumps and can re-point him.

WCS have no effect on MJD. If you were scrammed they wouldn't have helped you. I think it is more likely that the Vigilant didn't scram you or that you slow boated out of scram range when you were alligning. You don't need to believe me, you can test it yourself, but FYI, I tested it with a stabbed Fleet Issue Hurricane vs a Manticore with T2 scrambler. Even if you activate the MJD first, if the cycle doesn't complete before the scrambler is activated on it, it switches off again. |

Maybe you remember my face? ;)
I had a long point and in the seldom situations I use a Vigilant this long point makes totally sense from my point of view. I saw you coming in HiSec, jumped through, so had no time to change fitting or choose another ship, so that was all I had.
And no, you were not MJDing. You were warping both times, the one from the hi wormhole we were watching and the one from the other wormhole, which may have lead to your home wormhole, I don't know? But I am very sure you did not MJD. My mates arrived to late to help me catching you unfortunately. ;)
Have fun, fly safe. |

WHy would you want a long point on a vig?
To stop a ship from warping off before you get within web range.
Once in web range... they're not going anywhere with a 90% web on them. Why would you want to shut off that MWD? It easts their cap and puts a nice sig bloom on them. It would help against MJD ships, but maybe someone hasn't changed their fit, as MJDs are sort of "new" |
