Having read the last CSM can we have Latta for Emperor.. we might even get some stuff fixed around here, *gasp*, on time.

Serious note:
Glad to somebody actually demand an answer rather than settling for a Soon Ö for the n'th time in a row.

Yes, I would certainly agree with this. It may have been an agressive line of questioning, but was very well prepared and delivered.
The starting statement that after 6mths answers like Soon Ö are no longer funny, and shouldn't be expected. Down to the closing statement where possible hostility reflected in the line of question was with reasonable base, as latta does represent a considerable proportion of the eve gaming community, her questions are voted for and responces when given should be stuck to, or at least 'someÖ' attempt made to do so.
Noone doubts the devs are putting in hard work and long hours, but when they say something will be resolved and 4 meetings later forget they said they would resolve the issue, it doesnt help confidence.
On an up beat note, two much wanted feaures, 'Cancel Warp' and 'Surrender Corp War' are being tested, and should be with us soon, no bloody Ö required.

I've read more quitting post the last two days then in all months since Live. Even with the stupid moderation that's going on these days. --- soonÖ |

Im not overly surprised SHock.
A large element toward the apathy of many is the repeated failure to meet earlier promises even on the small scale issues.
I just hope the devs inject a bit of hope into the community by actually meeting the answers that Latta has finally forced out of them.

That Latta can represent actual community members is also a huge +. Good on 'em.

Thing is, some of us have been waiting quite some time for the basic game design to be implemented. Back then there was the horror that oh no, hacking wont make it on time for release! ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Lotta should have Pann's job.
Lotta rules!!!
As for quiting, devs dont care, this another form of beta where we PAY THEM to TEST THEIR freaking software. Who cares about paying beta testers.
I cannot believe CCP is that freaking clueless about what goes on in TQ as it was apparently shown in the last CSM.
If you print a box that says A B C and D is in the game, you better PROVIDE A B C AND D on release of a game or its false advertising. If I had money to blow, I would sue the pants off every MMORG developer. Starting with Shadowbane and working around the globe.

Gets my vote.
(Latta would do a far better job than Pann. Pann doesn't seem to have the game's/community's best interest at heart, and only serves as a school marm/PR booster.)
I've never been a big fan of the CSM chats. They always seemed to be nothing more than a carrot on a stick. The only good thing that comes out of them is that you see how out of touch with the game the developers are.
Good on you Latta for sticking to your guns. We need more like you.

Yes Kudos to Latta!
I especially like the part where she mention the asteroid balance bug that has plagued the Eve community for months now.
She even pasted a promise made by TomB from a past CSM that he had either forgotten about or was ignoring.
Keep up the good work Latta!
Now only if we could get the Devs to fix the asteroid bug and I'd be happy as a pig in mud.
I would rather die a free man than live as a slave. |

Edited by: Klydor on 24/10/2003 14:46:31 I fail to see how the tracking modules will help solve combat problems. It may solve mid warps etc But it won't stop people warping the moment you enter their local space.
They hit warp you can't lock cause of your 10 sec timer :( I could keep warping from place to place for a very very very very long time before my cap was anywhere near drained. Nobody would be able to lock me, since I'd simply warp before they are able to start locking.
Now if in addition to the tracking modules you were able to CANCEL your invulnerability timer by having it cancel the moment you do anything like try to lock someone, Maybe we'd have a chance to lock players that are simply going to run.
After all that timer is there to protect you from lag, it shouldn't be there to allow your prey to escape, which is how its working in the majority of cases at this time.
The timer would still be there for the cases where you lag and need it.. in fact if the invuln timer was increased to 20 seconds so long as it cancelled the moment you took any action it would ease the problems of jump in lag. Wouldn't solve them, but would make it slightly better :P
I think there is still a long way to go in combat, but tracking players and been able to warp to mid jump hiding players will be a step in the right direction. Not enough by itself, but a good first step none the less.

You should be able to warp to everything shown on scanner within a set distance. i.e. within 1 au. With an increased innaccuracy over distance due to the lack of a gravity well to aid navigation. (BTW bookmarks aint gravity well generators, perhpas they should be made into deployable objects)

Aye, sack Pann, she's the poorest excuse for a community manager I've ever seen. Then place Latta/Lotta and that position.
Latta/Lotta is strong, Pann just seems weak and clueless and not caring a bit. á

------------------------------------------------ When last did anybody see Pan online in the game or even traveling for on base to another.

I wonder if he signs on once a week even - and then it's probably only to change skills...
I vote Latta as CSM Chairman !!!!
