Over teh past 2-3 weeks in ingame trade channels the same person has made a trail account and copied and pasted a URL link to a site which sells isk for cash. This isn't something new and thus shouldnt be that hard to solve
The player has the same typo in the link and posts every 2-3 hours on a very regular basis.
Questions have been asked why can't CCP ban the IP from connecting to teh server but its more then likely he will be suing proxys to bypass this.
Its only confirmed to be a player and not a macro because gang invites stop him spamming until he clicks accept spams in the channel until you kick him or a GM discconects him from the game. I do have alot of fun inviting and kicking these trail accounts but is it not time for trail account privilages to be changed.
I cannot honestly think of a reason someone on a trail account needs to be able to TYPE TEXT into a trade channel. I can understand wanting to see the ecomemy and my random rants in various channels but they don't need to add to the discussion
This subject has been debated to the death i know and i apologize for starting a new thread but there starting to bug me. People will be buying from these people without knowing its a simple as that or they wouldn't be coming back.
The point of this thread is to ask is there any changes in the pipe for trail accounts to be altered in trade channels and eve mail messages

Not to mention anyone wtih any broadband connection can just restart thier modem and get a new IP rendering the old one obsolete.

If it is becoming so hard to stop people from connecting to the game.
Does that not suggest there needs to be other means of stopping these people.
An version of ISD to instantly block these people in ingame channels from talking or something.
I know someone will point out that just stopping trail accounts won't solive the problem but its a start on it.

I think what you should really question is why it bothers you so much.

Today ingame I am 3 years old
For the past 3 years I have traded everything from Miner 2s and meta items in 03 to jove parts in 04 or 05 when ever it was to high end tech 2 bpos.
It annoys me that someone can affect my game play so much by advertising getting every swearing at teh trail account in the trade channel and being a nuisence. Not to mentiton the number of newer characters who will actually buy isk from the site after going to the link.
yah you can pass me off as a carebear or what ever but I play this game for the trading community and that alone. It angers me when someone like this has such an affect on the game by trying to get un weary newer players to "advance" ingame just because they are rich in real life.
Im not going into GTC's please leave them out of this.

Just as we recently limited the posting ability of trial accounts, we are discussing further limitations on trials that will have an impact on the abusers, but not have a big impact on the potential community members playing in trial accounts.

It doesn't affect your game play one bit. You're the one deciding to get ****ed off about it. Why don't you just try ignoring these players. Or actually do something and report it.
Any time I've reported one of these spammers they are gone in minutes.
The plain and simple fact is you're jealous of the farmer selling isk and you're jealous of the new player buying the ISK because the begining of your gameplay wasn't that easy.
So my advice is quit letting it worry you and just play the game like they don't exist. Because in the end it doesn't affect you at all. Infact if you think about it putting ISK in the hands of new players actually helps your trade because they are the players most likely to buy something instead of going out and killing rats bs's for it. -=Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds=- |

I've had the same IP from Adelphia (cable modem) for 3-4 years iirc.

It seems to me that the solution to this is actually pretty simple. Don't just ban the trial accounts, ban the real accounts that are spawning them by sending out the activation codes. |

Using a slang word for an ex-political party does seem to be a bit extreme for forum filter. The word is used everywhere in the english speaking world for someone extreme.
Even if it is calling a fat guy a 'cake ****'. i.e. he wants everyone elses cake too
OK I can understand the Germans being a bit sensitive about it, but are they really that sensitive? I think not.

ehm a question... but it will not be possible to track gold transactions?
instead to ban the trial will be way better to ban the source of the income...
now if i purchase isk on a site i suppose that someone ingame will give me that isks, seem also quite logical to me that the account who will give me money will be a secondary one...
so, again if is it possible to keep track of accounts, why not someone at CCP purchase some amount of isks, get them from the secondary account and track it up to the main one finally banning it?

Ban the user's Windows install ID. Whent he client starts up make it check a list of ID's, all ID's on list = not allowed to go any further.
You could also make it catalog the machine ID.

Cap 3 mails per day, restrict access to trade channels - all they will ever need is availiable on the market.
