Okay, I appreciate I'm a bit behind the curve on this. This trailer is in no way new, except to me.
What on earth is it that the Caldari have built? Was this to do with a Chronicle or perhaps a release in the last year or so? I've only resubbed to EVE since about November 2014 so I'm assuming it's something I missed.
It looks pretty intense though. Did this end up being relevant to anything that has happened since? Can't tell if it's a superweapon or a stargate of some sort. |

It's a capsuleer built structure, i would think it's something like an initial startup of a stargate happening there. ( the empires built theirs most likely without a large fight happening right at them. ) |

Ooohh, so is this video more of a feature of Capsuleers on yet another step to independence from the Empires?
That would explain that variety of ships in the Gate-supporting side. That is so cool. |

I would love it if it's a structure we can go and see soon, assuming it's not already.
I also think I took the word ''Heretics'' a bit too literally, knowing that the new Jovian/Sleeper ships have a 'Heretic' pilot.

i do believe the purpose isnt to have one big static structure players can go see, but for them to actually be things players must build themselves
and due to the immense size of that mofo, and knowing regional gates are MUCH larger than system gates, it very likely goes to a new cluster |

I figured they'd be buildable. I just wondered if this one, from the trailer, was already in-game somewhere. Seems unlikely though, hehe
Also yeah, jeez that thing is gigantic, on a further viewing. There is no way this simply goes 'next door'.
Perhaps the idea is to fracture space entirely, and have a similar gameplay size system to ships. Small, Medium, Large, Capital, to send ships over different distances.

Is this structure the Carolyne Star itself, all that field of debris, cloud that we see now?

It crossed my mind but I don't think so. The ignition of the gate is definitely powerful, pulling in Archons and wrecking them. But those Archons are very close. Most of the other ships are simply hit by an EMP of the gate going off for the first time.
The final shot, though surrounded by a gigantic debris field made of ships, shows the gate is apparently stable and running.

Nebula in the backgroud of the gate in the video does somehow resembles Malpais region.
It is very close to UUA-F4 Region where Star is pinpointed in the close vicinity of W477-P system. |

Do we have any images from UUA-F4 Region, like images from the region itself?
I know there are some from Jove space but they dont look anything like from the Prophecy video.
Might asweel pack my things and go check Malpais, border systems of Kalevala Expanse and Perrigan Falls and see
how that looks like.
But I will never get the right point of view from those areas I am afraid.
Will post some nice images if I make there in one piece.

The way those Dust guys were deployed to board (a what was it?) ...
... when Dust was still coming out, I really had hopes that we could fly to a planet and zoom down, see the ants all scurrying about and then target a spot and blow them away.
I also wanted them to have to catch rides on our ships between planets and I could then eject them into space.
So many possibilities that we don't have!

from what we have gleamed, which i got from various interviews, the gates will lead to new regions, that will have interesting game play. Not much more past that, i don;t think they will lead to jove, as jove area is a bit too small. But they will lead elsewhere. it could include jove however, but i'm thinking deeper.

To get somehow between and confirm that the nebula from Prophecy screen is Malpais, not possible.
Couldnt find spot to get this look like seen here.
Anyway here are a few screens I took doing 150 jumps, not that it wasnt seen before.

Its always the light from Venus reflecting off a cloud of swamp gas.

The Prophecy Trailer is essentially a things to come video. Hinting at both the unification of EVE, DUST/Legion, and Valkyrie, but also hinting at a future where player made stargates are a thing. A slowly growing theme behind EVE is that the players are gradually slipping beyond the control of CONCORD and the Empires.
Caroline's Star is not the same thing. I assume it is the result of a conflict between two of the following. (Sleepers, Jove, Sansha's Nation) I seriously doubt Caroline's Star has any direct connection to player made stargates. Exception being if the blast cracked open cosmic instabilities which made the new gates possible. |

Funnily enough, a short while before you posted this, it did occur to me that the Prophecy trailer is a battle that actually hasn't happened yet. You're very much right, it is certainly a future vision of the moment the Capsuleers gained full control of their own power.
Exciting times ahead if CCP really do have the guts to introduce such a fundamental change to the EVE landscape.

The Sanctuary (Sisters of Eve) may know the truth or half of it. Or they are still searching, but to me, scientfic research mixed with religious belief seems kind of fishy. |
