This is especially geared towards North American parents where ads and commercials do not allow nudity.
For many, MANY people, especially Americans, it is absolutely fine to see violence and death and an obscene amount of swear words, but it is NOT okay to show a woman/man nude.
To me, this is beyond ludicrous.
How is death, destruction and pain okay but nudity is not?
Let's look at the future of a child. Will he see a nude man/woman after they turn 18 (many will WAAY before, but let's pretend it's a "nice world")? Yes.
Will he see a dead person? You hope not.
Will he beat someone senselessly to pulp while fitting ten 4-letter words in a sentence? You hope not.
Yet this is what you choose to expose him to, but you do NOT want to expose him to something NORMAL and somethat that a child WILL experience eventually.
I'm sorry, I just can't for the life of me understand this.
And why is showing nudity bad? What do you think a kid will do when he sees a boob? Are you afraid he'll jump a neighbour girl, strip he clothes off and do something to her?
Now what do you think when he sees his favorite action star blow the crap out of 600 people? Why AREN'T you afraid that he'll go up to the same girl and blow her brains out?
And after all this, NUDITY is bad?? How the hell can a most of a society feel this way? ------------------------------------------- If you kill them, they will die!

LOL. That's all that can really be said on this initailly. LOL. It has alot to do with those religous bastards who claim it is imoral or something like that. I completely agree with you. I would acutally rather my kids (don't have any still young) see a nude woman than lots of death and destruction. Well I wouldn't mine either really, cause i would be a good parent and explain to my kid about both situations. "I'm comin' for ya, and Hell's comin' with me!" |

No she watches it with me.
As for what it has to do with EVE, nothing. It's GD and I'm thinking out loud on a board I visit the most. Just trying to have an open discussion.
I can't change the way a society thinks, but maybe the post will ring the bell in one parents and they'll go "Hey, yeah!"
I've been exposed to both nudity, death and well, the 3rd thing I listed, which I am not proud of.
In retrospect, I can tell you that nudity affected me in the LEAST way compared to the other two, though in this game, I play the role of a killer yet again. I'm messed up right alongside everyone else ------------------------------------------- If you kill them, they will die!

Ummmmm the sooner you stop expecting the world in general, and people specifically, to make sense, the sooner your peace of mind can be reestablished.
Like the man said....

My thought exactly! I lived in Colorado for a year with a nice family. They had 2 little girls, 3yrs and 5yrs old. One day they had a birthday party for the younger one. They had a small swimming pool where all the kids where using. The 3yr girl was complaining that her swimming suit top was annoying her, so her mother took it off. Everybody at the party was in so much shock that they could see a 3yr old girls upper body that they they left the party cursing about the 'daring' nudity their kids had to watch! Pretty ****ed up IMHO.

As a mother of 2 little ones in the US. I have to agree with the OP that I would much rather have our children exposed to nudity than violence and foul language. The human body is a pure and beautiful thing. Violence and language on the other hand are two of the ugliest of humanity's creations.

lol, i luv your spoon by line.. thats awesome. Personnally i agree with one of the above posts. I believe that children, and i'm talking younger than 12 shouldn't be exposed at all to either violence, brutality or nudity. As a parent it is my responsibility to protect and as they grow and mature, to educate them about things in the world. Personnally what ****es me off is when Parents blame the media and celebrities for thier childrens bad behaviour, Dam it who wears the pants in the house? the kids or the adults? anyways there's my 2 cents.

Well, it DOES give me a piece of mind that at least the people who play this game also feel the way I do.

Define beautiful. Define ugly.
I'd much rather massacre an entire team on C&C Renegade, even though it's a fairly lame game (Which is admittedly fun, and often requires forming thoughts) than watch p.r0n (Which attempts to satisfy base human emotions...things that need to be quashed anyway, and requires you sitting there with an empty mind).
