When kali comes out, reverse engineering may help break the t2 monopolies. IF this happens, what do you think would happen to the POS market for moon materials? Would prices drop, or rise?

The moon mins prices will rise as there will be more deamnd and prob close to the same supply. Morphite is well a bit hard to say. It should spike at first as people start making more t2 goods. Thought the higher prices should get more people to mine it. This works until we get to the ccp limited respawn rate of roids. At which point prices should go up on morphite as it becomes more rare than what it use to be. The only 2 ways to fix this would be for miners to move where it hasn't been striped like crazy or ccp to up the respawn rate. This will only happen if the new stuff makes t2 production increase greatly.

I take it you mean an asteroid that has never been touched will be smaller after Friday/Monday DT if it is mined to exhaustion, then smaller each week if so mined?
We have talked about this in our corp, but is this known as a fact of the game mechanics?

Well, asteroids have a "regrowth" rate. if you strip a virgin belt, it will take a couple weeks to return to virgin status. But it will return given time. _______________ Pwett CEO and Founder [QTC]QUANT & [QTC] Industries |

Hmmm, that certainly explains why the velds have been respawning at 40k units in a system I have mined quite alot the past couple of weeks.
They were mainly 100-120k before I touched it. Thanks for the info, very interesting. Looks like I will have to be more nomadic with my approach to a mining base.

Since invention will compete for the same building materials, demand will go up, which tends to drive prices up. Kali will also release with 8 new regions, which means that supply also has room to grow, which will will tend to drive down prices.
In the end I think it will depend on how balanced the new demand, and the new availability of supplies are. Initialy though, I would expect a rise in prices, followed later by a drop. The reason is that right now there is an overabundance of RP's that can be converted to Datacores. So the demand side will be front loaded.

The limiting factor on supply is labor, not natural resources. Supply will not increase unless the number of moon miners increases. Since increased demand will increase prices for building materials, it would be reasonable to think there'll be more mining which will bring prices back down, but no guarantees.
