I recently got a working copy of a registered version of fraps installed. I have tried many different settings but I am curious what all of you use. Your video settings for windows/eve/fraps. Also the recording settings on fraps. When I record the picture isn't that great.

Hello,
I run EVE at 1152 x 864 resolution
Record with NO SOUND
Set FPS to 25-30
Record at full size
Records perfectly for me, no fuzz or anything. The only problem i have is that the file-sizes are huge.. something like 100mb for every 10 seconds!

Run Eve at the minimum resolution, 1024 X 768.
Full frames. 30 FPS. No Sound.
If you can, have fraps record to a different HD than the one that Eve is on. Defrag that drive a lot.
When you encode, use WMV, encode using Quality % mode and choose 90%, key frames ever 3 seconds. You will get a video that looks 99% like the Eve client, but it will be about 100 megs per 3:30 to 4 minutes.
Also, make sure you have as few programs running as possible besides Eve and Fraps.
It will look like this example:

My PC is only a P4 at 2.8 with 512 megs of ram, GF660GT.
Oh, also make sure your HD(s) are not sharing their channels with anything but a HD of the same type (usually ATAsomenumber). Do not put a CD/DVD rom on the same channel as one of your HDs ever!

I would like to hear from people with Nvidia Cards and what drivers they are using.
I have a 7900GTX 512 PCIe card and the quality is poor. I am using the Version: 91.47 driver
I have tried the running eve in differend screen res but this makes no difference
Any ideas anyone?

I have a pair of 6600GT PCI cards running the version 81.92 drivers.
I prefer to run EVE at 1280x960 and Fraps at half-size - this greatly reduces file sizes. I find 640x480 an adequate size for completed movies, and find the full-screen productions a bit annoying.
