Some new stuff in the Announcements section, the first of bi-weekly Dev Blog recap and a post from Oveur about Tranquility's newly refound stability following after Wednesday's emergency patch.
Blogs and server stability, what more could you ask for when getting ready for a weekend of EVE?

Edited by: Jinx Barker on 29/09/2006 22:07:04 Nice. And ZomG!!! Second? Sheesh!
And, as an afterthought, Oveur, what about this: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=391410.
I am sure you or one of your guys probably seen the thread, has some excellent ideas about modifying POS in general. Perhaps something can be done, will certainly help lag.

Maybe we could ask for you to make fleet battles possible that dont affect the stability of other systems? Hmmm...
Failing that, cash, booze and directions to the nearest red light district would be welcome.

Kieron... I don't know if you've checked the forums lately... but stability just went to hell in a handbasket due to ASCN/BOB, not to mention the lag that people are experiencing in different systems... AGAIN.

possibly somewhat premature given the instability of TQ and multiple node crashes people have suffered tonight... better but far from resolved lag is.

Blog always nice. Server stability would be nice. haven't seen that. I have seen multiple node crashes in couple hours. And getting killed and then podded without screen loading. There was however nice node crash between the two losses.

The recap is really nice, shows us what effort the dev's have been putting in communicating with us lately, imo they picked up the ball real well right after the e3 info draught.
way to go!

I have a suggestion. Instead of posting blogs about the blogs (so to speak), it would be very appriciated if you could reorganize the dev blog page.
Some time ago, I started a thread which puts the blogs on one page, sorted by date. I felt that it gave a nice overview over earlier blogs, and made them easier to find than with the current system you use.
Anyway, my post is just a suggestion on what you could do. Make it a page with nice spiffy graphics and some nice layout, with automated indexing and blog summary for every blog (maybe the post you start the blog thread with).
Its just a suggestion by your #9 forum warrior for 2006...

Umm, I could make that page alot prettier... that one looks like its been designed by a programmer.
And wouldnt it be great if every blog had a summary? There is lots of room for improvement here.. the only question is if ccp wants to or not. :)

it does everything I wanted it to - list all blogs on one page without the need to extensively search for it. Im not a programmer either (though it was indeed dsigned by one)
basically i hate having to search through the 'archives' on e-o, its frustrating sometimes trying to find a blog or newspiece.
For eg, a month ago I was searching for all news relating to the tetrimon, in particular their 2003/105 activities. Took bloody ages to find the news items.
as i said, the best solutions are often the simplest ones when it comes to lists of stuff :)
eve-i was never about prettiness either, twas about functionaility :)

Yep, totally agree with you there. Its a very nice list and it makes the blogs easy to find. Thats why I want ccp to do something similar, but with a summary for every blog, and maybe some nice graphics as well. :)
I guess I could create such a page myself, but then I would have to manually update it for every blog... its not practical.

Omber Zombie won by 42 votes. He's in the process of creating an Immgration service so that he can stem the flood of minmatar into the Federation.
