Will MWD's and MWD Ships be Screwed?

Malicious Wraith The Dark Side of the Moon	Posted - 2006.09.30 00:10:00 - [1] If you see, the major addon from kali is "Deadspace Encounters". Seeing as how MWD's dont work in these Deadspaces, wont they be totally screwed from a large portion of these engagements for the sake of RP? Discuss ----------------------------------------

They also make mission piracy imposible so long as the player is even semi alive. All the rats can use MWD in deadspace, why cant we... what reason does it surve to prevent an entire race from using 1/2 of their ship bonuses.

The only "encounters" are the hybrid missions where you warp to the deadspace gate and there are baddies there to meet you. Then you warp in and wham, no MWD for you. Sucks for the blasterthron people.

Fit Blasters, MWD into the heart of the NPCS, kill things fast but more than likely take far too much agro to handle and probably end up having to warp, or if scrambled+webbed - die 2. Fit Rails/Artillery/Beams/Cruise, MWD out to safety, snipe everything without taking a single hit, MWD back in to collect loot, move on speaks for itself really ----------- Turbulance

If they're stupid enough to MWD into that many NPCs, maybe they shouldn't have been there in the first place. 2. As has been said, many NPCs pack MWDs even in deadspace. Odds are those NPCs with MWDs could probably catch you anyway. Also, it would be hard to mount both a sniping setup and an MWD, nevermind the cap hit (Thinking rails and beams as far as cap is concerned.) ~~~ Like a blind hammer... That destroys what it can't see...

I bet an inty pirate with a nice faction/deadspace AB, some speed mods in the lows, and maybe some implants, will beable to draw full aggro then haul ass so that they can't get hit, while everything else kills the NPCs. A MWD is a detriment to your total capacitor, and when it's running it uses copious amounts of cap, meaning you won't be able to run a halfway decent tank against the NPCs. The reason you fit a MWD on a thorax is so that you can get within warp scrambling and blasters range of a target before they warp off in fear or target you and kill you from a distance. NPCs are slow to react, slow to target, and never warp off. Fit an ABII and get over it.

Don't people tank station ultima with an inty? It's still possible in some cases, with some setups, but the tactic is definately not that simple anymore. The Microwarp Drive didn't just make it possible, but also made it highly practical.

It stops easy mode missions, where one inty pilot can tank the entire spawn and round them up into a big herd like a sheepdog, because he is travelling at 7000 m/s.
