I want to participate in the testing, but alas, my account is banned for a crime I shouldnt have been banned for.
I was sat outside the station in my ship, and another guy decided to try to blow me up, so I returned fire to save me having to refit. Grr, a GM / Bughunter warped in while I was finishing him, and alas, now my account is banned.
Could I pleasepleaseplease be unbanned? I didnt do anything wrong, and I reaaally wanna take part

How do I petition on the test server? Main server GMs have nothing to do with it, and AFAIK there's no test-server petition system.
The I even told the guy who banned me, in local, that I was just saving my ship

It would not surprise me if the other guy was banned, too. Essentially, the rule is no combat period. Try sending the head bug hunter (wuzzisname?) a mail, though, with the log.

Out of game mail, of course! I'm not saying you've got a good hope of succeding since it's a test server and not a service, and as such who's got access isn't a big priority as long as those who do follow the rules.

Mmm. If it wasnt allowed, a MAJOR bug wouldve made it into TQ a year or so ago (1 shot destroyed ANY celestial object - Stations, gates, roids)

Has nothing to do with you.
But no fightning outside the station, means no fighing, doesn't matter who started the fight. A few months ago you could get away with it, but seeing as Kali is coming soonÖ test server GMs they take it seriously.

You'll probably have to wait to the next mirror, I would guess your account wasn't active when the last mirror was made.
You're probably going to have to wait until Kali gets put onto Sisi, at which point Sharkbait is, as far as I am aware, going to start a thread in the Game Development Forum for people to let him know that sisi accounts are inactive so he can then activate them (so you should be able to get on then even if they don't get chance to do the mirror)

I'm afraid the rules on the testserver are there for a reason, even though they may at times appear harsh. Remember though, that the bans are usually till the next mirror, and there will probably be another mirror (correct me if I'm wrong Sharkbait) before Kali is released onto Sisi. Other than that, these kinds of topics belongs in the Game Development Forum.

In that case I'd liek the GM in the Avatar with the superweapon who popepd me outside the station banned. Fair is fair after all.

This raises some questions for me:
Q1. With all the references to fighting "outside the station" being prohibited, this seems to suggest that fighting away from stations is permitted. (I'm not going to be silly and mention "inside the station"!) If the fight was in an asteroid belt, for example, would this have been OK?
Q2. If two players logged onto the test server with the express intention of testing various ships and setups in combat, would that be permitted? (After all, testing on the test server seems self-explanatory.)
Q3. Where are the current test-server rules to be found? Previous comments seem to have suggested that the rules change regularly.

A few reasons:
1. Lag. If two hundred people are fighting fity different combats outside a station where another two hundred people are trying to dock, undock, and change fittings...
2. Loot cans (later wrecks) that no one is bothered to pick up. These tend to gather right at the exit of stations, preventing people from moving.
3. Accidents. When someone undocks to test something, he's accidentally locked and shot down by someone who's got nothing to do with the test in question.
So, in it's essence, combat outside the station tend to prevent people from testing rather than the opposite. And blowing up stations can easily be tested by warping to the station that doesn't seed stuff on market, quite possibly in a different system, where combat is allowed.
