Edited by: Madorthene on 30/09/2006 18:52:44 Lo. I'm not an alt, before you ask. I'm wondering if it's possible to train social skills to a high enough degree to get lvl3 missions from the start. This possible, or do I need to grind lvl2s? If so, how many missions would I be expecting before I hit lvl3s? I'm most likely missing something fundimental here, but meh.
Thanks for your time.

After you finish the tutorials you are given a 1.0 standing with your race. If you open the info box on your race you will see a tab for agents. Find the highest one that is available to you, then work that agent while you train the skills and move up to higher quality agents as you see fit. It won't take a great amount of time to get to a lvl 3. It will take longer if you want to work an agent from a different race.
Unless you have done some agent work already, I doubt skills alone will get you there. If you have worked a few agents without the skills, then it is possible the extra bonus will boost your standing to a high enough level.

Need a little clarification here. Do you mean the tutorials that aura has, such as docking, or do you mean the tutorial agent? Because the tutorial agent gave me two missions, and has since handed me over to a lvl1 agent, and refuses to give me more missions. My standing hasn't recieved a 1.0 increase yet.

That was the case a while ago. It is no longer so. You don't get your standing set to 1.00 to your own empire faction any more when you complete the two initial/tutorial missions.
Well, you do get some hints to a series of mixed normal/cosmos agent storyline missions, which at the time are NOT completed yet, and right now (if you complete all 6+3=9 missions, doable in frigate, but not extremely easy) will only increase your standing to about 0.10 to faction. __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'll run lvl1 missions while I wait for a maller, then i'll go at lvl2s. I'll train up some social skills while i'm at it. How long can I expect to be running them before lvl3's, though? Just looking for rough estimate on days/weeks/missions to get there. I've heard that it's at lvl3s the ISK starts getting better.

Edited by: Tunajuice on 01/10/2006 23:49:29 With no faction doing crappy agents.. l1 to l2 took maybe 10-15 missions. L2 to get L3 to show up took maybe 50-60 missions. L3-l4 took maybe 100.
Didn't keep track real close... but L2 to L3 isn't that bad.

If you do high-quality agents in lowsec space you will not only be a bit faster on your way up, you will also get nicer payments.

If you have instas and watch local its not that bad to run missions in a quiet part of lowspace.. the bigger problem is getting to and from your agent... not worth the trouble for 75% of eve.

Am I doing something wrong, then? I'm doing a 0 quality lvl1 agent, and i've done about 20 or more missions. I'm at 0.25 standing, and I need 1.4 to use a -9 lvl2... I haven't trained any social skills, though. Will that make such a difference?

Same here with my second character. The second referral wasn't even to a valid agent. I petitioned it and a GM set my character's standing to 1.0 with his race, so he could start using regular agents. I think there are problems with the tutorial agents while the whole mission system is in some state between RMR and Kali.
