Wow.
I've been reloading this page and reading each little chapter as you posted them and I find myself grinning because you have explained it all so clearly and, more importantly, correctly.
Awesome, Jade, awesome.
I completely agree about being able to attack any negative security player in Empire Space - I like the idea of being a vigilante.

Quote: The reason we are gone is because the game cannot support players of our calibre and we got bored of loosing our hard earned advantages as the rest of the people in this game caught up with us.
Let me just translate this statement.
As soon as CCP leveled the playing field and took away our advantages, we had to quit, because it just wasn't fun for us to fight people who would actually have a chance at fighting back.
Everything you said reinforces Jade's theory, that you, your corp and others like you were too stupid to realize that you were responsible for nerfing yourselves. The reason you are gone is because players of your caliber couldn't adapt after you geniuses couldn't wait to own some noobs.
Good Riddance
Adapt or Die
I completely agree.

Hmm interesting. This shows the phycology of the Pirate. ...
More importantly, your posting speaks volumes about your psychological makeup.
Namely, you can't resist a chance to spout about the failings of others.
I've known Stavros for a fair bit now ingame. From when he was Stavr0s. Many of those that did know him trully wish he'd drop the act, just for a minute, and let people know what was really going on at some point.
He wasn't just one of the most bloodthirsty, merciless pirates in the game. He was also among the richest. And his near universal dislike almost guarantees that he achieved that without exploiting. As I'm fairly certain specific people from above crawled through his account regularly for an excuse to get rid of him.
Pro-piracy cons-piracy theorist, Jash?

No, Joshua. Just a tiny bit of information dug out. I suspect Mara/Passari wasn't as random as people think it was. It'd be like saying there was no point in Obe.
Anyone that's been past Obe knows it's not just about a chokepoint.
Don't tell me those fabled few rocks of infinite-unit arkonor are beyond Obe?
Mara/Passari was a good point for camping - the only way out of Caldari space to anywhere else.
It also had a very handy spawn of 20K terrorists at the Passari sun, which, pre-loot table nerf, must have dropped some very nice stuff.

So, now that my suspicions are roused, exactly what is beyond Obe?
Can't be arsed to check map.

An excellent summation of the pirates history in Eve - well done Jade
I guess I agree with the majority of what you wrote. All the early "orgy of destruction" tied up the devs and I'm sure their continued nerf-fest patches have taken away valuable time from OTHER pursuits (like getting the higher level content into the game). If they didn't have to mess with all these killers and all the complaints we'd probably have mobile refineries already.
I guess you never asked the most important question. Why don't the hardcore PvP players just fight each other? I mean if its combat they so love I don't really see the need to suck in the non-pvp types? I mean if theres a whole class that loves combat why not stick the all in a region and "go for it". Why bother anyone else?
You forgot the worst term in gaming Jade...... GRIEFER ....... that person who so torments people they complain to the devs. The person who so violates any sense of decency ingame they are banned. The person who makes people so miserable they quit the game in disgust. The person who causes so much havoc the devs waste MONTHS trying to undo the damage with stuff like missile firing billboards and sentry guns everywhere INSTEAD of bringing us the high level content we desire.
Ask yourselves this. If people (the evil "carebears") had the choice of a non-PvP server would they do it? Probably yes. Their gameplay doesn't require the need for anyone else to die in order to have fun.
Calladen Nimitz
Without PVP there'd be no need for mobile refineries............

Umm you can have a lot more fun if you're not actually bothered about losing a BS. You are and that holds you back mate
I'm not bothered about losing my BS - my role and position in the corporation means it is covered against loss under most circumstances.

Quote: Ah OK. I must be mistaken then - the impression I get of you is a very conservative player who isn't a risk taker. No offence implied or intended in that statement.
None taken.
It's not that I'm conservative - I just don't feel a mad rush to do everything right away.
I do a little bit of everything.
This has nothing to do with this thread, by the way

... Hasn't the truth about bloodthirsty, cruel pirate hiding behind this cute goofy front been revealed already?.. ;s
That guy ****ed me off actually - I pride myself on no smack-talk on local when I'm doing my business and would've prefered he kept it off the forums. I was doing my job and he made it sound like he was an innocent

Surprise us then Josh I only meant you were conservative in-game you know
I'm conservative by nature - which some of you may find surprising (or not) given that one of my hobbies is skydiving
I'm not conservative in-game in regard to losing ships or putting myself in danger. That's what I thought you meant.

Jade,
You left out another kind of player - the Good Guy Gone Bad.
Homo Erectus, formerly of Evolution, has gone over to The Legitimate Businessmans Club.
