you need to pay anyway before my standing is up or i transfer corp to you because i cannot enforce payment afterwards. and i had way too many customers "changing their mind" before i did it this way so i had organizing hassle and missed opportunities with other customers. who has paid me also uses my service. and as i want to keep my reputation as reliable service provider i don't scam my customers (actually i'm pretty proud of my reputation and the long customer list).
i don't know how other standing service providers handle this. but partial payment only opens the door for "mistakes" in my opinion. paid + delivered = happy customer.
