Greetings,
Went to log in, their was a quick update-under 5 seconds, and got a "Offline Mode" message.
Try to log in on my wifes computer and she got the same thing.
Thought it strange that both pc's had the same issue.
Did a ticket on it and no reply as of yet. usually ccp responds within a couple hours in my experience.
Looked on Eve status monitor and 11:05 - 11:25 zero folks logged in. Maybe an issue that affected more than just me.
Went to uninstall window to see if i can fix it. Cause usually there is an uninstall/fix option.
Only to find out that I had no version, size and file location empty.
Was i surprised.
So i uninstalled client and now reinstalling EvE.
checked firewall and nothing was blocked.
Anyone else with problem or do i need to put my helmet back on? LoL
FYI:
I did find in forums a help section on issue. More of a send us info rather than a fix. Of course this was after my reinstall solution.
EvE is a love/hate relationship. Love to hate it at times and hate to love it at other times.
Hope reinstalling works if not ill be bummed.

Eve has it's own Repair.exe
You can also launch the client without using the launcher. Sometimes the launcher freaks out for no apparent reason so just try to circumvent it in the future before re-installing.
Both the client executable and the repair executable are found in the game's folder.

Try running from the CCP\EVE\Bin\exefile.exe if already patched.
If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

One other pro-tip: http://eve-offline.net/ for confirming if it's the server or you.

There is an official daily downtime from 11:00 to 11:30 GMT/UTC (EVE Time) every day. While almost all daily downtimes are considerably shorter than the stated half hour, it does occasionally happen that a longer part or even the full half hour is required to reboot the server and correct any problems that occurred during that process.
For further reference, please read this article.
Also, as stated above by others, you can always check if the EvE server Tranquillity is online and accepting connections here.

Seriously, I went to the bank and withdrew some money, and suddenly there are cops at my door and everything. Turns out I went while it was closed. Apparently that's called robbery in some places.
I did find it odd all the lights were out and the doors were locked, but whatever.
