Lately Sony has been granting PS4 users the ability to play PS3 games. This falls under their Playstation Now and other digital systems that give players a catalog of older titles.
I would Love to Play DUST, but only have a PS4. |

The whole reason DUST pretty much died is that it was supposed to be ported over the PS4, but that was when Sony wasn't going to charge a monthly access fee. The contract CCP had with Sony reflected that.
Then Sony decided to have PS4 users pay a monthly fee, and the contract went **** up.
CCP would have been forced to pay Sony a fee to have DUST on the PS4, and CCP either wouldn't or couldn't (more probably couldn't).
So DUST is forever stuck on the PS3, and will be until the PS3 goes away. As it is, its shedding players fast.
CCP then said they were going to port DUST over to the PC, and call the 'new' game Project Legion. DUST characters are supposedly going to be able to transfer over to Legion.
And that was about a year or so ago, and nothing has been announced about Legion, while DUST crawls along on the PS3.
Whats going to happen next?
Got me man, I just post here.
Everything in EVE is a trap.
And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Well when the decision was made to look at going to PC instead of PS4 DUST was a unprofitable dud. CCP felt that starting over was the only way to save it.
Now DUST appears to be making a profit, partly because they are now only paying 3 Devs to support it, partly because the game is so much better than it was a year ago that people are willing to spend money on it, and partly because the remaining Devs have been working to come up with stuff that people actually want to buy.
That last bit is tricky, as there is a fine line of good taste between giving players stuff they want to buy, and making players feel exploited. The important bit is that when CCP Shanghai gets that balance wrong, they have been quick to tweak things until the players feel better about it. The recent introduction of Strong Boxes in Salvage crossed the line and had players annoyed, but several changes have been made to make the Strong Boxes worth more, and provide ways of getting keys without spending AUR, so players are much less annoyed with them now. The most interesting thing coming down the line now is the expected introduction of Skin slots in suits so that you can buy Skins that can be reused in your suits rather than buying novelty suits. People are getting quite excited about that, because we will be able to apply these Skins to Advanced and Proto suits rather than only having unique looking suits at Standard tier.
Anyway, the point is that dispight falling number of players due to people getting rid of their PS3GÇÖs, the game is finally profitable and seems to finally be a success. The business case for porting it to PS4 is far stronger today than it was a year ago. Recently the Tinfoil hats have been postulating that CCP has given up on Legion and will port DUST to PS4 instead. I am not sure that I agree with that prediction (just because they don't talk about Legion does not mean it is dead), but I will definitely say that DUST is in a far better place right now. |

Considering that unlike PS3, PS4 runs on PC hardware which makes it exponentially easier to port on both PS4 and PC. |

Nah.
I'm a PC gamer first and foremost, and KB/M is obviously my preferred weapon of choice, but competitive shooters on PC are annoying. Every game has at least one hacker, some just hide it better than others. I don't like the integrity of any competitive game compromised like that.
Move the game to PS4, give it proper KB/M support. More than enough power in that system to do amazing things, and it doesn't have the RAM problem that the PS3 does. |

I honestly prefer CCP to move it to the PS4 since it would make it easier for PSN account holders to retain their Dust accounts and thus their assets without having to worry about transferring assets from a console character to a PC character. But on the flip side I prefer it on the PC as well because the PC has a longer shelf life than consoles. Because of this, I don't care which next-gen platform it gets ported to at this point. As long as Dust is moved out of the PS3 as soon as humanly possible. |

Like I dont want a custom or HD version made, just allow DUST to be played on PS4 via Playstation Now or their backcatalog of older ps3 titles can that be played on the 4. |
