I am honored to say that the first post, "To the 1%...", got a rather lot of attention, more than a few replies, and a very healthy amount of views. Thank you all.
I realized however, that the thread itself was getting a little large and that there was more I wanted to say. So I'm doing this.
First will come the original 1% statement, followed by the Update, closing with a few more thoughts of mine. I am aware that this makes it even longer, *chuckles*, I should work on brevity I suppose, but I still believe that those who read it all...are those who I wish to speak with.
So:To the 1%...
What would you do if you had a dream inside of you, straining to be realized? An idea? A goal?
Would you nourish it? Would you seek to bring it to fruition?
āwould you let it fade?
This is my dream.
Empire of Destiny, E-o-D, is set up to be an ambitious attempt at creating a mega-corporation. Right off the bat it encounters difficulty given the simple fact that IÆm starting it myself from the ground up. But then again, everything must start somewhere, non?
I can tell you what I have:
I have detailed ideas of the four major Divisions of the corporation, combat, production etc. I even have plans for those four Divisions to further split into the eight major sub-Divisions which will be the day-to-day activities for those within the corporation itself.
I have detailed plans for the Executive level ranks, those in charge of ôrunningö the corporation, from the bottom up.
I have a pretty solid plan for how the corporation should continue to grow and expand at each level of development within the corporation itself.
I have a few friends, CEOs themselves, who are already in 0.0 space willing to help me out here and there and also form an alliance when E-o-D gets to that stage.
I have and am working on plans for different inter-Divisional ranks in the sense of promotions, demotions, pay raises etc.
IÆm in the middle of working on an award list of various medals and whatnot that will be awarded given certain achievements within the corporation itself.
I have an even more detailed explanation already written up in the form of eve-mails which describes my ideas for the corporation itself.
Plans I have; a lot of them to be honest, far more than I listed here.
What I donÆt haveāis people.
And now we get to the meat of the issueāand the crux of the problem.
Firstālet me preface: I am sure that by the end of this, if not already, I will have lost 99% of the readers. Most will think it too complex, too serious, too much of something they arenÆt looking for. I know this and I have accepted this. It is the last 1% that I am writing this forā
The act of forming a corporation is hard enough itself, much less forming one with a goal and plans as large as this oneā As such this is aimed at a certain type of person.
To be honest this is going to take work. Effort. Frustration. There are going to be growing pains I know, (hell half the plans IÆve come up with will probably change: No plan survives past first contact with the enemy.) There are going to be nights where you log off frustrated as hell. Times of betrayal. Times of sadness. Times when you want to hurt people through their monitor.
There are going to be quite a few times when the entire thing is just going to suck.
But then againāwould it be worth it if it were easy?
Delegation is key. Anything this ambitious requires it. From the top down various things need to be delegated to other members just so that the entire thing can survive, otherwise you have a situation where one person has far too much responsibility and the entire thing crumbles because of it.

Delegation is an important part of any corporations growth, especially this one.
As suchāI need people to delegate to.
The thinkers, the dreamers, the planners.
Those of you who are like myself, who have ideas that are bursting to be explored. Who have plans for how to guard this or train that or build this orāwhatever. Those of you much like myself, who sat around, either in a corporation or not, and thought about the things youÆd like to do. Who might have pitched ideas to your chain of command and found them ignored. Or perhaps simply havenÆt gotten around to trying them.
The thinkersāthe dreamersāthe planners. Those of you who have been looking for a chance just like thisājust like I was. Until I finally realized that the best way to do itāwas to make it happen myself.
And the othersā
Those of you who seek more depth, who search for the same level of depth in your corporation as you find in the game itself. Those of you who realize that a corporation can be a group of friends to chat to while playingāor that it can be something far more.
Even without aspiring to a position of power within such an organization, perhaps simply to find something differentāsomething new. To find a place that combines friendship with plans to build somethingāthat is more than the sum of its parts.
As I said earlierāI am sure that 99% of you have long since stopped reading, or continued only out of some morbid curiosity. It is to that last 1% that I write.
It might be harder, far harder, to build such a thing now then it was earlier in the life of Eveābut that does not mean it is impossible. In fact, it might be all the more possible simply because there are so very many who are unwilling to try because they fear the task ahead of them.
Ye minds of Eveā
Plans I haveā It is the people that I need. And, above all things, no matter what else I bring to the table, there is something that trumps it all: Passion.
Not just passion about the game, passion about the corporation itself.
To the 1% of you out there still listeningā Take a chance.
My name is Jarem Alistorāand this is my dream...
(Updates)
As for the update:
I've received a few responses from this directly, a fact that I am very pleased to announce! However there seem to be a few questions that I thought to answer here.
First off: "Is this going to be a carebear corp?"
No it is not. We will not be pirates, however. Still, and this will become more apparent in a moment, there will be quite a lot of PvP as time goes on.
In fact, I've spent a few days doing nothing else but thinking up various PvP strategies to try out for later.
There's going to be a full combat wing - we will not be carebear.
Second: "Do you plan on going 0.0"
Yes I do. One hundred percent, (hence why there will be a lot of PvP at a later date)
Here's the catch though: I'm planning for long term, very long term. And the way in which I want us to establish a presence in 0.0 is, more than likely, going to lead to a lot of combat. Because of /that/ I do not want us to enter into 0.0 until we're ready to do so.
I understand that this might cost me some members in the long run but I'd rather lose a few members here and there to impatience as opposed to losing the entire corp were we to enter into 0.0 too early.
Third: "Are you going to give corp members ships"
Yes! One hundred percent yes!
However, again a caveat. While I'm sure I'll be handing out frigs left and right higher level crafts are going to be handed out depending on: skills and ranks.
I haven't fully completed the design for how the system is going to work but, basically, you get a frig, you want a cruiser then you learn the skills for it, show you have the skills you get a cruiser.
Grab a higher rank in corp and you'll get maybe a cruiser half fitted, fully fitted, fitted with T2, etc.

That's all I can think of right now but hopefully that clears up some of the air.
(Evolution)
Evolutionā
For whom do I write this?
Eve is a gameā
But we all know that there are gamesāand then there are /games./
I write these words for those of you who feel as I do. For those of you who have come to understand the true depths that this gameāthat this universe has to offer.
For those of you who have courage, who have strength, drive, commitment. For those of you who can /see/ the things that can be done here. Those of you who can feel them.
My passion is unabated, and it will remain as such for a long time to come. I know the challenges a head. Those that can be seen, those that can not be. Those I have not even come to understand exist.
I know themāand I do not fear them. Because I /know/ what can be achieved in spite of them.
For whom do I write this?
Those of you who would be brave enough to stand with meāto build an Empire.

I just wanted to add one more thing now that it's not 4 in the morning.
If you've contacted me already and I haven't contacted you back and/or it's been a while since we've spoken please send me another email.
When I first started getting responses I wasn't making notes in character sheets so there are a few people out there I'm thinking who I think I've responded to but I might not have.
My apologies to you if that's the case and again, please drop me another eve-mail.

I am interested in discussing opportunities with you. I'm a Max-skill Carrier pilot who wants to Moon Mine and live in 0.0. My main reason for looking for a change, however, is to have ownership of some of the stock in a corp, so that I can be properly motivated to work for the good of the corp. I've been Co-CEO and Director of the corps that I have belonged to. I'm certain I can be an asset to your dream, and I need to know if you can help me achieve my dreams as well.
Please evemail me or contact me in game.

Hey, so I sent you an eve-mail a couple days back, now i'm wondering if you could reply and let me know if I should apply or not. It is a bit of hike to get down to your HQ to officially apply, so I'd like to know if you'd take me or if I'm too new.

HI Jarem,
I am interested in this, Could I request a Gnartt Chart or Pert Chart of your plan or any documentation that outlines the targets, deadlines and resource creation/allocation of the corp? -----------

Fairly certain I sent you an eve-mail mate.
Unfortunately RL has been doing me rather dirty the last few days (off late, early morning meetings, etc) so I haven't had too much of a chance to catch up but I should be rather good for the next few days so hopefully I can catch up with you then.
Anyone else that's been looking for a time to contact me as well, I should be around most of tonight.

I have spoken to Jarem Alistor,
He is an excellent leader and he has a few screwing missing, a requirement of being a leader in eve.
A very ambitious plan, and it will take a while to happen. If you want a chance at making the world of eve turn in a different direction, here is a chance and a leader with the ambition to make it happen. -----------

Based on my (albeit limited) experience, I would say its a requirement to be a leader anywhere

Looking forward to speaking more with you!
I have a question I'd like to throw out there, which is:
What's the corp's stance on RP?

My personal stance is that it's fine...the corp itself isn't really RP to be honest, though there are some RP elements I feel.
I used to be a heavy RPer myself so obviously I've got nothing wrong with it.

I am happy to announce that we are doing pretty well and I'm ever so slowly beginning to find those who will form the core towards where we will head towards the future. There are a few guiding and leadership positions open and recruitment continues.
Drop me an eve-mail and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
