Well I have about a month and half since I had my last smoke.. and althout I can't say it was easy think it's the time I can surely say "I've quit".
And i love it, stoped breathing heavy, house smells nicer... but there is drawback. Know what? Theres a saying that the sum of vices must stay the same... so I drink more lately

I gave up smoking 4 years ago, after having smoked for 20 years. TBH I found it really easy - I went to an NHS cessation clinic and it was superb, but not everyone finds it as easy as I did.
The truly difficult bit is lasting over the long term. You get to 6 months and think "I've beaten it" and "I could have just one now, it'd be fine". My struggle is with things you smoke other than tobacco, if you know what I mean. There are ways round this of course but it's still the biggest trial for me, even 4 years later.
My dad gave up smoking 20 years ago. He says he still occasionally gets the urge!

I'm trying to quit right now...been three whole days for me. :-/ Never thought about being addicted until I tried to give it up.

Finally quit after 30 years. (yes, 30 years) Quit back in May.
It took prescription drugs but it worked.
BTW. If you don't smoke, don't start. I must have wasted thousands of dollars over the years on that drek.
We need a YEAR without ANY 'new content'. Nothing but BUG FIXES.
New content that does not work is WORTHLESS. |

yea.. another last one. 
I smoke at least a pack a day. Some days its near two but never more.
I only smoke the 'cheapest' ones which cost 7$ Canadian Dollars per pack.
This roughly mean: 49$ per week, over 210 per month and 2548$ per year minimum and up to twice as much. A fair estimate is 4000$ per year on smokes alone. Thats a heck of a nice EVE 'puter im smoking away!!
...this makes me want to buy ALL Tobacco in TQ and trash it all!

To all of you trying to quit, just remember:
The craving only lasts 2-3 minutes.
All you have to do is distract yourself for 3 mins and the craving will be gone for a while. 3 minutes is *nothing*, you can stand almost anything for that short time, the trick is remembering that
